RESUMO
The development, distribution and availability of water in North Manchester is discussed. The sources and quality of water as well as the sophistication of the supply (whether house connection or standpipe) were discussed. Proximity of standpipes and the ratio of people per standpipe was stressed as an area of importance. Training of personnel directly responsible for the operation of the water supply is emphasized.
