RESUMO

Background: This article presents a research study that aims to explore sustainable approaches for developing professional skills in vocational education students in Thailand. This is the second phase of the research, which utilizes a qualitative research methodology. Methodology: The key informants in this study are administrators of vocational education institutions, teachers, and students currently enrolled in vocational education institutions in Thailand, totaling 36 participants. The research uses a purposive sampling method and snowball sampling method. Data collection methods include document analysis, in-depth structured interviews, and observation. The results of the interviews are analyzed, and the content analysis is summarized. The research process consists of 4 steps: 1) literature review, 2) data collection, 3) data analysis, and 4) verification and confirmation. Results: The research findings highlight several key considerations, including: 1) factors influencing the development of professional skills among vocational education students, such as curriculum design, support and counseling, practical training in workplaces, interactive learning, problem-solving and analytical thinking skills development, practical learning, and supportive learning environments, 2) approaches for sustainable professional skill development involve employing the appropriate approaches for self-development. The steps include setting clear goals and plans, active learning and training, technology skill development, experiential learning, problem-solving skill development, participation in professional activities, self-reflection, and continuous self-improvement. Conclusion: These approaches aim to enhance the competencies of vocational education students, ensuring quality and efficiency as part of lifelong learning and sustainable development.

Female entrepreneurs have irreplaceable status and essential significance in entrepreneurship research. Improving females' entrepreneurial intentions is an important topic in this area. Accordingly, this study, based on the theory of planned behavior, investigates the factors that affect female students' entrepreneurial intention at China's vocational colleges and whether household income moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial education, attitude, competence, self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention. 2149 females from vocational colleges in Guangdong Province, Zhejiang Province, and Jiangxi Province were randomly chosen to participate in the study. They had taken part in entrepreneurial courses throughout 2021-2022. In addition, data were analyzed by structural equation modeling partial least squares. The results demonstrate that entrepreneurial education did not directly affect female students' intentions. Entrepreneurial competence, self-efficacy, and attitude positively affect entrepreneurial intention. It is further concluded that household income significantly moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial education, attitude, competence, and intention. However, there is no significant difference in the relationship between self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention between high and low-household-income students. While females continue to confront sexism in the workplace, it is crucial that we conduct empirical research into the factors influencing female entrepreneurial intention to boost economic growth and gender parity. This research helps bridge a gap in the prior literature and adds substantial value to encouraging female entrepreneurs.

Medicina Familiar y Comunitaria es la especialidad más ofertada y elegida en el MIR, sin embargo, cada año se cuestiona su atractivo debido que no se ocupan todas las plazas ofertadas y un determinado número de médicos residentes desisten de continuar en dicha especialidad una vez iniciada. En este contexto algunas de las propuestas que se plantean para abordar el problema se centran en incrementar la oferta cuando los hechos muestran que el reto está en actuar sobre la demanda haciendo más atractiva la especialidad y su ámbito de ejercicio profesional. Se procede a analizar este problema y sus condicionantes abriendo el foco del análisis a 4 elementos que pueden estar influyendo en el mismo: los aspectos vocacionales de los graduados en medicina que acuden a la especialización, las características del programa de la especialidad y de las unidades docentes en las que se lleva a cabo la formación, la presencia de la medicina de familia en la universidad como elemento clave para el conocimiento y la afección a dicha especialidad desde el grado y finalmente la situación de la atención primaria, como espacio en el que se materializa la formación y lugar prioritario de desempeño profesional de los futuros especialistas. Family and Community Medicine is the most offered and chosen specialty in the MIR (Spanish medical residency examination), however, every year its attractiveness is questioned due to not all offered positions being filled and a certain number of resident doctors deciding not to continue in this specialty once started. In this context, some of the proposals to address the problem focus on increasing the supply when the facts show that the challenge lies in addressing the demand by making the specialty and its professional scope more attractive. The problem and its determinants are analyzed in this context by focusing on four elements that may be influencing it: the vocational aspects of medical graduates who pursue specialization, the characteristics of the specialty program and the teaching units where training is carried out, the presence of family medicine in the university as a key element for knowledge and affinity to this specialty from undergraduate studies, and finally, the situation of primary care as the space where training is materialized and the priority setting for the professional practice of future specialists. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The 1 + X certificate system, introduced in China in 2019, integrates academic credentials with vocational skill certificates to meet the heightened demand for skilled talents in the growing economy. This study aims to innovate and evaluate the vocational pharmaceutical education system under the 1 + X certificate framework, specifically addressing the gap between theoretical education and workplace requirements. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective observational approach analyzed 490 pharmacy students over two academic years. The 2021 cohort underwent 1 + X integrated education, while the 2020 cohort followed conventional education. We collaborated closely with industry partners to identify and compile typical job competencies, formulating work projects aligned with industry demands. Combining the skill level standards and assessment content of "1+X Pharmaceutical Purchasing and Sales" and "1+X Pharmaceutical Preparation", we revised the course standards, incorporating typical work projects into the 2021 pharmacy professional teaching curriculum. This constituted the fundamental content of the 1 + X education reform. Statistical analysis compared course scores and 1 + X certificate examination performance. RESULTS: The 2021 cohort, under the 1 + X educational model, demonstrated higher average scores in pharmacy courses, with significant improvements in pharmacology (1 + X vs. Traditional education: 58.40 ± 14.20 vs. 53.44 ± 14.67), clinical pharmacotherapy (72.74 ± 10.28 vs. 63.15 ± 11.03), and pharmaceutical distribution and marketing (79.34 ± 10.96 vs. 67.50 ± 15.82). 1 + X certificate pass rates and satisfaction with the model were also higher than the 2020 cohort. CONCLUSION: The 1 + X certificate system is useful for developing talent in Chinese vocational education, effectively integrating assessments with industry standards. Future research should aim at evaluating long-term outcomes and improving quantitative skills assessments for enhanced effectiveness.

BACKGROUND: During their training, pre-professional ballet students are confronted with physical stresses comparable to those of competitive sports. In competitive sports, there are mandatory and binding aptitude tests to ensure that the growing athlete meets the requirements. In ballet, there are no such mandatory examinations preceding the start of training. For adult professional dancers, musculoskeletal ideals could be isolated from the dance medicine literature. However, only a few studies describe musculoskeletal characteristics of pre-professional ballet students. It is neither known at what age a student should meet the ideal measurements for an adult nor what deviations from the ideal can be considered normal. This study aims to describe sociodemographic and musculoskeletal characteristics of pre-professional ballet students and discusses to what extent they already meet or deviate from dance-specific eligibility criteria for adult professional ballet dancers. MATERIAL AND METHODS: In this study, n = 414 female and n = 192 male students of John Cranko School (JCS) were seen by an experienced orthopaedist and dance physician. Mean age was 13.9 years (SD 3.5, range 5-22 years). Their medical history was taken (age; nationality; start of ballet/training) and a physical examination was performed (height/weight; symmetry of shoulder girdle, spine, waist triangles; pelvic tilt; tibial torsion; range of motion of base of index finger joint, spine, hips, ankle and base of great toe joint). Subsequently, the results of this study were compared with suitability criteria for adult professional ballet dancers that had been isolated from the dance medicine literature for a previous article. RESULTS: Examinees were from 49 different nations. 34.6% of the female subjects (≥16 years) were between 165 and 170 cm and 33.3% of the male subjects (≥18 years) were between 178 and 185 cm tall. 45.0% of those examined showed low body weight (<10th percentile, BMI <18.5 kg/m²). The trunk of 61.0-84.8% of those examined was erect and symmetrical. 25.2% had scoliosis. Half (53.5%) were found to have a bilateral external rotation of the hips of at least 60°, and 68.7% had a bilateral internal rotation between 20 and 50°. 87.3% exhibited a bilateral tibial torsion between 15 and 40°. A bilateral en dehors of 90° was calculated for 25.0%. In 9.1% of those examined, the upper ankle joints presented a dorsiflexion of at least 25°, and in 70.2%, a plantarflexion of at least 70° was seen. In 88.0%, the metatarsophalangeal joint of the great toe was 90° (f) and 80° (m) on both sides. CONCLUSION: The results of this study showed that pre-professional ballet students fulfil many characteristics of adult professional ballet dancers. High values already among young age groups suggest a ballet-specific selection. Nevertheless, not all students fulfil the theoretical "ideal measurements" for professional classical ballet. These anatomical limits should be considered individually in training to protect the growing pre-professional ballet dancer. The high ballet-specific anatomical demands, but especially the large number of students with a low body weight, underline the necessity of mandatory aptitude tests at the beginning and regular check-ups in the course of training to avert compensatory mechanisms and their consequential damage and to screen for eating disorders and disorders of eating behaviour.

The outbreak of Covid-19 has led to the need for institutions to provide online learning to their students. In this context, it is important to understand the views of both students and teachers regarding online classes. This study aims to explore the opinions of English teachers and students in vocational colleges in China about online English learning. A convenience sampling technique was used in the study. Data was collected using a questionnaire survey from the respondents. Data were analyzed using SPSS statistical software. Focused on the perceptions of English teachers and students in vocational colleges about online English learning. The results of the study revealed negative perceptions of both students and teachers about vocational English education in an online learning environment. This study highlights the importance of addressing both teachers' and students' negative feelings about online learning. The findings of this study are useful for educators and academic departments in improving the online learning experience for vocational students. It also emphasizes the need for effective implementation of ICT modules to improve the quality of online education. The study suggested that ICT modules should be implemented in various media platforms and applications to improve the quality of online learning by academic departments. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of understanding stakeholder perceptions in online learning environments and provides insights for improving the quality of online education.

Faz-se necessário abordar criticamente a promoção da saúde e os elementos que impactam o processo saúde/doença no cotidiano da formação do professor de Educação Física (EF). Portanto, este estudo tem como objetivo analisar teses e dissertações produzidas sobre a formação acadêmica em EF e sua relação com a saúde no contexto do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), por meio de uma revisão integrativa. O estudo encontrou seis dissertações que mostraram que apesar da percepção das universidades de que a formação acadêmica permite aos professores de EF atuar no SUS, é possível identificar a manutenção do discurso conservador e biomédico, o que afeta a compreensão, a percepção e a ação dos professores de EF em equipes multiprofissionais no contexto da Saúde Coletiva presente no SUS (AU).


It is necessary to critically approach health promotion and the elements that impact the health/disease process in the daily training of Physical Education (PE) teachers. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the theses and dissertations produced on academic training in PE and its relationship with health in the context of the Unified Health System (SUS), through an integrative review. The study found six dissertations that showed that, despite the universities' perception that academic training allows PE teachers to work in the SUS, it is possible to identify the maintenance of the conservative and biomedical discourse, which affects understanding, perception and action of PE teachers in multidis-ciplinary teams in the context of Collective Health in the present SUS (AU)


Es necesario abordar críticamente la promoción de la salud y los elementos que impactan el proceso salud/enfermedad en la formación diaria de los docentes de Educación Física (EF). Por lo tanto, este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar tesis y disertaciones producidas sobre la formación académica en EF y su relación con la salud en el contexto del Sistema Único de Salud (SUS), a través de una revisión integradora. El estudio encontró seis disertaciones que demostraron que, a pesar de la percepción de las universidades de que la formación académica permite que los profesores de EF actúen en el SUS, es posible identificar el mantenimiento del discurso conservador y biomédico, que afecta la comprensión, la percepción y la acción de los profesores de EF en equipos multidisciplinarios en el contexto de la Salud Colectiva en el SUS actual

Objective: To assess the effectiveness of a training program for Primary Care (PC) professionals developed to increase knowledge, attitudes, and skills for managing patients with risky alcohol use and in the motivational interview. Design: Multicenter, two-arm parallel, randomized, open-label controlled clinical trial. Setting: PC of the Andalusian Health Service. Participants: The study was completed by 80 healthcare professionals from 31 PC centers. Interventions: In both experimental and control groups, a workshop on managing patients with risky alcohol consumption and the resolution of two videotaped clinical cases with standardized patients were conducted. The experimental group attended a workshop on motivational interviewing. Main measurements: Knowledge about managing risky alcohol use, clinical performance in patients with this health problem, and assessment of the motivational interview. Results: Mean age was 39.50±13.06 – SD – (95% CI: 36.59–42.41); 71.3% (95% CI: 61.1–80.9%) were women. The average score of both groups in the knowledge questionnaire before the training program was 15.10±4.66, becoming 21.99±3.93 points after the training (95% CI: 5.70–7.92; p<0.001). The experimental group showed an average score of 18.53±13.23 before the intervention with the motivational interview and 28.33±11.86 after this intervention (p=0.002). In contrast, no significant variation was found in the score of the control group. Conclusions: A training program aimed at PC professionals designed to increase knowledge on how to manage risky alcohol use and acquire communication skills in motivational interviewing is effective.(AU)


Objetivo: Evaluar la efectividad de un programa de formación para profesionales de Atención Primaria (AP) para incrementar conocimientos, actitudes y habilidades en el manejo de pacientes con consumo de riesgo de alcohol y en la entrevista motivacional. Diseño: Ensayo clínico controlado, abierto, aleatorizado, multicéntrico, paralelo de dos brazos. Emplazamiento: Centros de AP del Servicio Andaluz de Salud. Participantes: Fue completado por 80 profesionales sanitarios de 31 centros. Intervenciones: En el grupo experimental y en el control se realizó un taller de manejo de pacientes con consumo de riesgo de alcohol y la resolución de dos casos clínicos videograbados con pacientes estandarizados. El grupo experimental asistió a un taller sobre entrevista motivacional. Mediciones principales: Conocimiento sobre el manejo del consumo de riesgo de alcohol, desempeño clínico en pacientes con este problema de salud y valoración de la entrevista motivacional. Resultados: La edad media fue 39.50±13,06 -DE- (IC 95%: 36,59-42,41); El 71,3% (IC 95%: 61,1%-80,9%) eran mujeres. La puntuación media en el cuestionario de conocimientos antes del programa de formación fue de 15,10±4,66, siendo 21,99±3,93 puntos después del entrenamiento (IC 95%:5,70-7,92; p<0,001). La puntuación promedio del grupo experimental antes de la intervención con la entrevista motivacional era de 18,53±13,23 y después de 28,33±11,86 (p=0,002). No se encontró variación significativa en la puntuación del grupo control. Conclusiones: Un programa de formación para profesionales de AP, para incrementar el conocimiento sobre cómo gestionar el consumo de riesgo de alcohol y adquirir habilidades comunicativas en la entrevista motivacional es efectivo.(AU)

BACKGROUND: The administrative, language, science and vocational staff in Nigerian open and distance learning centers handle a wide range of responsibilities, including teaching, supervising exams, managing projects for distant learners, conducting research, and attending conferences. However, no research in southeast Nigeria has looked into how the administrative, language, science and vocational staff at open-distance learning centers manage occupational stress. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate how administrative, language, science and vocational education staff at open distance learning facilities in southeast Nigeria manage their work-related stress in relation to cognitive behavior therapy intervention. METHODS: The study used a randomized control group trial design with 63 administrative, language, science and vocational staff members as the sample size. Data were gathered using the Occupational Stress Index and the Perceived Stress Scale. The instruments' respective internal consistency reliability indices are.87 and.77. The 12-week intervention of cognitive behavior therapy was conducted. A postintervention exam was given to participants in both the intervention group and the nonintervention group after the conclusion of the intervention, and a follow-up assessment was given 2 months later. The paired samples t-test and the independent samples t-test were used to evaluate the data for the within-groups and between-groups effects, respectively. RESULTS: In open and distance learning facilities in southeast Nigeria, it was discovered that cognitive behavior therapy significantly improved the administrative, language, science and vocational education staff's ability to manage occupational stress. CONCLUSION: Administrative, language, science and vocational education staff at open distance learning facilities in southeast Nigeria can effectively manage their occupational stress through the use of cognitive behavior therapy.

[RESUMEN]. Objetivo. Evaluar el Programa BIZI, un programa de formación de guardianes o gatekeepers (GTK, por su sigla en inglés) en español y con un formato novedoso en línea, autocompletado, breve y de acceso libre desarrollado como parte de la estrategia de prevención de suicidio en Euskadi (España) para mejorar la pre- vención del suicidio desde entornos comunitarios. Métodos. Un grupo multicomponente de expertos creó el programa y probó su usabilidad en una fase pre- liminar. Para la evaluación se utilizó un diseño de grupo único y medidas repetidas (antes, posinmediato y a los tres meses). Se evaluó su impacto en las competencias GTK básicas con cuestionarios en línea, así como la adherencia a los contenidos y satisfacción. Se incluyeron en el estudio agentes comunitarios (educadores y trabajadores sociales, ente otros) que respondieron a una invitación enviada por los coordinadores comar- cales de salud pública. Resultados. En total, 728 personas accedieron a la formación, y 86% la finalizó. Completaron la evaluación 569 personas (81,2% eran mujeres, la edad media fue de 41,4 años). Las competencias GTK básicas de actitud, autoeficacia y conocimiento mejoraron de manera significativa, y la mejora se mantuvo ≥ 3 meses en una submuestra (P = 0,0001). Conclusiones. Los resultados son prometedores y sugieren la utilidad de BIZI para mejorar la capacidad y la disposición de agentes comunitarios para identificar a personas en riesgo y derivarlos a recursos especializa- dos. Su formato novedoso le confiere ventajas importantes respecto de otros formatos GTK más habituales, y facilita su difusión en entornos de escasos recursos. Es el primer programa de este tipo cuya eficacia ha sido demostrada y también el primero disponible en español.


[ABSTRACT]. Objective. To evaluate the BIZI program, a Spanish-language gatekeeper training program with a novel online self-learning format that is brief and open-access. It was developed as part of the suicide prevention strategy in Euskadi (Spain) to improve community-based suicide prevention. Methods. A group of experts from different fields created the program and tested its usability in a preliminary phase. A single-group design was used for the evaluation, with repeated measurements (before, immediately after, and after three months). Online questionnaires were used to evaluate the program’s impact on core competencies for gatekeepers, as well as adherence to content and user satisfaction. Community agents (educators and social workers, among others) who responded to an invitation sent by regional public health coordinators were included in the study. Results. In total, 728 people accessed the training, and 86% completed it; 569 people completed the assess- ment (81.2% women, mean age 41.4 years). The core gatekeeper competencies of attitude, self-efficacy, and knowledge improved significantly, and improvement was sustained ≥3 months in a subsample (P = 0.0001). Conclusions. The results are promising and suggest that BIZI is useful in improving the capacity and will- ingness of community agents to identify people at risk and refer them to specialized resources. Its novel format gives it important advantages over other more common gatekeeper training programs, facilitating its dissemination in low-resource environments. It is the first program of its kind whose effectiveness has been demonstrated and also the first available in Spanish.


[RESUMO]. Objetivo. Avaliar o Programa BIZI, um programa de capacitação de gatekeepers em espanhol com um formato inovador on-line autoinstrucional, breve e de livre acesso, desenvolvido como parte da estratégia de prevenção de suicídio em Euskadi (Espanha) para melhorar a prevenção de suicídio em ambientes comunitários. Métodos. O programa foi desenvolvido por um grupo multidisciplinar de especialistas, e sua usabilidade testada em uma fase preliminar. Para a avaliação, foi utilizado um delineamento de grupo único e medidas repetidas (antes, imediatamente após e aos três meses). Foram utilizados questionários on-line para avaliar o impacto sobre as competências básicas do gatekeeper, a adesão ao conteúdo e a satisfação. Fizeram parte do estudo os agentes comunitários (educadores e assistentes sociais, entre outros) que responderam a um convite enviado pelos coordenadores de saúde pública da comarca. Resultados. O programa de capacitação foi acessado por 728 pessoas e concluído por 86% delas. Um total de 569 pessoas concluiu a avaliação (81,2% do sexo feminino, idade média de 41,4 anos). As competências básicas do gatekeeper relativas a atitude, autoeficácia e conhecimento melhoraram significativamente, e essa melhoria se manteve em uma subamostra por um período de 3 meses ou mais (P = 0,0001). Conclusões. Os resultados são promissores e indicam a utilidade do BIZI para melhorar a capacidade e a disposição dos agentes comunitários para identificar pessoas em situação de risco e encaminhá-las para recursos especializados. Seu formato inovador confere vantagens importantes em relação a outros pro- gramas de gatekeeper mais comuns e facilita sua disseminação em ambientes com poucos recursos. Esse é o primeiro programa desse tipo com eficácia comprovada, além de ser o primeiro disponível em espanhol.

Introdução:Os enfermeiros que prestam cuidados à pessoa com doença renal crónica em hemodiálise devem ter formação específica em técnicas dialíticas. Assim, os Enfermeiros de Diálise deverão desenvolver competências específicas e diferenciadas ao longo do seu percurso profissional. O b-learning desempenha um papel fundamental na modernização do ensino, tornando-o mais acessível, flexível e adaptado às necessidades dos enfermeiros. Oferece oportunidades para melhorar a quali-dade da aprendizagem e promover a colaboração e a inovação no processo educativo.Objetivos:Os objetivos do estudo foram: avaliar a influência das variáveis sociodemográficas (idade e habilitações literárias) e da formação adquirida (frequência e duração) no perfil de competências e avaliar a eficácia de um programa de formação em técnicas de HD, na perceção de competência do Enfermeiro de Diálise. Material e Métodos:Estudo quase-experimental, pré e pós-teste, sem grupo controle. Resultados:A idade, a frequência e a duração da formação influenciam a perceção de competência do enfermeiro de diálise. Os participantes apresentaram uma melhoria significativa em alguns domínios da perceção de competência do Enfermeiro de Diálise após a implementação de um programa de formação em técnicas de HD. Conclusões:A existência de um programa de formação para Enfermeiros de Diálise, devidamente estruturado e padronizado, é uma mais-valia na aquisição, consolidação e atualização de conhecimentos. Introduction: Nurses providing care to individuals with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis must have specific training in dialysis techniques. Therefore, Dialysis Nurses should develop specific and differentiated competencies throughout their professional career. Blended learning plays a fundamental role in modernizing education, making it more accessible, flexible, and tailored to the needs of nurses. It offers opportunities to improve the quality of learning and promote collaboration and innovation in the educational process. Objectives: The study’s objectives were to assess the influence of sociodemographic variables (age and education) and acquired training (frequency and duration) on the competence profile and to evaluate the effectiveness of a training program in HD techniques on the perception of competence of Dialysis Nurses. Material and Methods: Quasi-experimental, pre and post-test study without a control group. Results: Age, frequency, and duration of training influence dialysis nurses’ perceptions of competence. Participants showed a significant improvement in some domains of dialysis nurses’ perceptions of competence after the implementation of a training program in HD techniques. Conclusions: A properly structured and standardized training program for dialysis nurses is an asset in acquiring, consolidating, and updating knowledge. (AU)

BACKGROUND: Most adult smokers started smoking in their teenage years, which increases the risk of nicotine dependence. In Denmark, there is a high prevalence of youth smoking among students in Vocational Education and Training (VET). However, reducing and preventing smoking in this group is a major challenge. This article presents a needs assessment aimed to explore factors sustaining legitimacy of smoking in VET schools and consider the measures needed to prepare VET schools' implementation of smoking reduction and prevention interventions. METHODS: Participant observations were conducted in four VET classes representing three VET schools in Denmark with a duration of four days each. Individual, semi-structured interviews were conducted with teachers, managers, and a student advisor, as well as four focus groups with a total of 20 students. Interviews were audio-taped, transcribed, and the data material was analyzed following Malterud's systematic text condensation. FINDINGS: Factors that helped sustain legitimacy of smoking in VET schools included a positive and normalized attitude towards smoking at home and among friends, an understanding of smoking as an integral and expected practice in VET professions and schools, a perceived reliance on smoking as an icebreaker in new social relations and as a pedagogical tool, and smoking as a habit and a means to deal with boredom and stress relief. CONCLUSIONS: The factors sustaining legitimacy of smoking in VET schools are reciprocal and call for smoking reduction and prevention intervention efforts which consider and address social influence, habitual behavior, and psychological needs, as well as changes at the policy level.

Higher vocational education is the core component of China's national education system and shoulders the mission of cultivating high-skilled and applied talents. The wide application of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) has effectively improved the curriculum system of China's higher vocational education. In the meantime, some MOOCs suffer from poor course quality. Therefore, from the perspective of sustainable course quality improvement, we propose a data-driven framework for mining and analyzing student reviews in China's higher vocational education MOOCs. In our framework, we first mine multi-level student demands hidden in MOOC reviews by combining web crawlers and text mining. Then we use an artificial neural network and the KANO model to classify the extracted student demands, thereby designing effective and sustainable MOOC quality improvement strategies. Based on the real data from China's higher vocational education MOOCs, we validate the effectiveness of the proposed data-driven framework.

Multimedia technology holds paramount importance in driving innovation within vocational education, significantly influencing learning satisfaction. Its integration facilitates dynamic and interactive learning environments, catering to diverse learning styles and preferences. Moreover, multimedia technology enables educators to simulate real-world scenarios, providing practical and hands-on training opportunities. This aspect is particularly valuable in vocational education, where practical skills and application are required. The paper investigates the impact of multimedia technology in enhancing learning satisfaction within innovative vocational education. It delves into the utilization of multimedia tools and their correlation with learner satisfaction, exploring how these technologies augment engagement and comprehension in vocational training. The primary data from 515 students of vocational colleges of China has been collected and regression analysis is applied for empirical analysis. The findings of the study highlight that multimedia technology has positive relationship with innovative vocational education and learning outcome. The findings contribute valuable insights for policymakers regarding significant role multimedia plays in fostering enhanced learning experiences and overall satisfaction among vocational learners.

INTRODUCTION: The effort adolescents make determines the risk for dropping out of vocational education and training (VET) early and their chances of graduating upper secondary education. Studies have shown that adolescents' efforts decrease during the transition to upper secondary general education and increases for the transition to VET. In this study, we examined adolescent self-efficacy in lower secondary education, adolescent-instructor relationship (AIR) in VET and general education, and perceived person-environment fit (PEF) as predictors of adolescent effort. METHOD: We calculated two longitudinal multigroup structural equation models. Group 1 comprised 1266 (mean age in T1 = 15.7 years; female: 44%) lower secondary education graduates who moved on to VET with two learning contexts, company and vocational school in Switzerland. Group 2 included 517 (mean age in T1 = 15.7 years; female: 44%) lower secondary education graduates who moved on to upper secondary general education and thus stayed in a school. Adolescents' survey data was collected in 2016 and 2017. RESULTS: Self-efficacy in lower secondary education and AIR in upper secondary education indirectly predicted effort in upper secondary education via PEF, controlling for effort in lower secondary education. Findings were similar for general education and vocational school. However, the effects differed between company and general education (moderation). The positive effect of AIR on PEF was statistically significantly weaker for adolescents in general education than for adolescents in VET and their company learning context. CONCLUSION: We discuss strategies to enhance adolescents' efforts in upper secondary education.

O objetivo deste estudo consiste em analisar os efeitos psicossociais que as áreas de tecnologia e inovação ganharam na atualidade bem como seus impactos na formação profissional. Para tanto, a pesquisa conta com um breve resgate histórico no qual apresentamos como os elementos da inovação tecnológica produzem efeitos locais e históricos que se tornam norteadores da vida urbana contemporânea. A parte empírica apresenta um estudo qualitativo descritivo que conta com depoimentos de cinco docentes engenheiros que atuam em uma universidade pública federal localizada no interior do estado do Paraná. Os resultados demonstram que essa área é conectada às prescrições voltadas ao desempenho laboral e ao enaltecimento do uso da tecnologia no cotidiano. Com isso, ela fica distante de uma análise crítica sobre os efeitos psicossociais trazidos por tais aplicações, especialmente no que se refere à colocação profissional. Como conclusão parcial, destaca-se que as práticas voltadas para a tecnologia e a inovação atendem a demandas populacionais, empresariais e governamentais de diferentes tipos, reafirmando sua importância para a organização social. Ao mesmo tempo, tornou-se evidente o quanto a área carece de uma análise crítica acerca de suas ações na esfera da inclusão e exclusão sociais.


El objetivo de este estudio consiste en analizar los efectos psicosociales que las áreas de tecnología e innovación ganaron en la actualidad, así como sus impactos en la formación profesional. Para tanto, la investigación cuenta con un breve rescate histórico en el cual presentamos como los elementos de la innovación tecnológica producen efectos locales e históricos que se vuelvan orientadores de la vida urbana contemporánea. La parte empírica presenta un estudio cualitativo descriptivo que cuenta con testimonios de cinco docentes ingenieros que actúan en una universidad pública federal localizada en el interior del estado de Paraná. Los resultados apuntan que esa área es conectada a las prescripciones volcadas al desempeño laboral y al reconocimiento del uso de la tecnología en el cotidiano. Con eso, ella se queda distante de un análisis crítico sobre los efectos psicosociales traídos por tales aplicaciones, especialmente en lo que se refiere a la colocación profesional. Como conclusión parcial, se pone de relieve que las prácticas volcadas a la tecnología y la innovación atenden a las demandas de populaciones, empresariales y gubernamentales de distintos tipos, reafirmando su importancia para a organización social. A la vez, se volvió evidente lo cuanto el área necesita de un análisis crítico acerca de sus acciones en la esfera de la inclusión y exclusión sociales.


This study aims to analyze the psychosocial effects gained by technology and innovation areas nowadays, as well as their impacts on professional education. To this end, this research includes a brief historical overview in which we present how elements of technological innovation produce local and historical effects that guide contemporary urban life. The empirical section presents a descriptive qualitative study that includes statements from five engineering professors who work at a public university located in the interior of the state of Paraná, Brazil. The results indicate that engineering is connected to prescriptions focused on work performance and the endorsement of technology use in daily life. Thus, it remains distant from a critical analysis of the psychosocial effects brought about by technological innovations, particularly concerning job placement. As a partial conclusion, we highlight that practices related to technology and innovation meet the demands of different types of populations, companies, and governments, reinforcing their relevance for social organization. At the same time, it is evident that the area lacks a critical analysis regarding its actions in the sphere of social inclusion and exclusion.

Fundamento: la calidad de un servicio de salud parte del nivel de la competencia y desempeño de sus trabajadores en el cumplimiento de sus funciones laborales y sociales. Objetivo: elaborar un sistema de competencias laborales para tecnólogos de la salud licenciados en Optometría y Óptica. Métodos: se realizó una investigación de desarrollo tecnológico en el campo de la educación médica, durante enero 2021- enero 2022 en instituciones del nivel secundario del municipio Holguín. Se utilizaron métodos teóricos, empíricos y estadísticos que permitieron la triangulación metodológica de los resultados. Se tuvo en cuenta el criterio de especialistas para la valoración del sistema de competencias elaborado. Resultados: se identificaron insuficiencias para ejecutar procederes óptico-optométricos, limitada participación en actividades científico investigativas, baja categorización docente e investigativa, debilidades en la función profesor-tutor y escasa actividad de superación permanente. Se elaboró un sistema de competencias laborales para tecnólogos de la salud licenciados en Optometría y Óptica diseñadas en correspondencia con el ejercicio de sus funciones. Conclusiones: el diagnóstico realizado demostró la necesidad de un sistema de competencias laborales para contribuir al perfeccionamiento del desempeño laboral de estos profesionales, el cual fue valorado como factible, pertinente y útil de ser aplicado.


Background: the quality of a health service is based on the level of competence and performance of its workers in fulfilling their job and social functions. Objective: to develop a system of job skills for health technologists Bachelors in Optometry and Optics. Methods: a technological development investigation was carried out in the field of medical education, from January 2021 to January 2022 in secondary level institutions of the Holguín municipality. Theoretical, empirical and statistical methods were used that allowed the methodological contrast of the results. The criteria of specialists was taken into account for the assessment of the developed competency system. Results: insufficiencies were identified to carry out optical-optometric procedures, limited participation in scientific research activities, low teaching and research ranking, weaknesses in the teacher-tutor function and little permanent improvement activity. A system of job competencies was developed for health technologists with degrees in Optometry and Optics designed in accordance with the exercise of their duties. Conclusions: the diagnosis carried out demonstrated the need for a system of work competencies to contribute to the improvement of the work performance of these professionals, which was valued as feasible, relevant and useful to be applied.
