Harlequin ichthyosis (HI) is an extremely rare disease with a prevalence of less than 1/300 000 live newborns and no more than 100 cases reported worldwide. It corresponds to a genodermatoses autosomal recessive inheritance, typically, with postnatal recognition due to the complexity of prenatal diagnosis. Advances in prenatal genetic testing allow sequencing of the affected gene and confirmation of the diagnosis after recognition of ultrasound markers. The prenatal acknowledgement of the disease significantly marks the course of the pregnancy; considering the perinatal high risk and neonatal mortality, this entity can be classified as lethal. Taking into account the legislation of each country, the possibility of pregnancy termination should be considered as an acceptable option. We present a case of prenatally diagnosed HI in the first ultrasound evaluation by the Maternal Fetal Medicine unit at 29 weeks of gestation, in which after counselling to the parents, the interruption of the gestation was decided.

PURPOSE: To describe the ocular clinical characteristics of a group of Mexican patients with lamellar ichthyosis (LI) arising from TGM1 pathogenic variants. METHODS: Ophthalmological exploration, pedigree analysis and genetic screening were performed in patients with an established clinical diagnosis of lamellar ichthyosis from families located in a small community in the Southeast of Mexico. RESULTS: Nine patients with LI in five families were identified. There were six affected females. All patients (9/9) demonstrated eye lid abnormalities with eight patients showing lid margin abnormalities. Madarosis was present in only three individuals and corneal scarring was documented in two. All nine individuals carried biallelic TGM1 variants, either homozygously or as compound heterozygous. CONCLUSION: Ocular anomalies are common in individuals with TGM1-related LI. The occurrence of a variety of private or rare mutations hampers the identification of a genotype-phenotype correlation for ocular anomalies in this disorder.

BACKGROUND: Harlequin ichthyosis (HI) is a rare skin disorder with extremely high lethality due to a mutation of the ABCA12 gene. Because of its rarity and the often-late onset, prenatal screening for HI is extremely difficult, and most pregnant women might easily miss the period for optimal examinations. OBJECTIVE: To summarize the sonographic features of HI for prenatal diagnostic purposes. METHODS: The authors describe a case of HI with no family history who was diagnosed by using prenatal ultrasound scanning. The sonographic features of HI and the clinical characteristics of pregnant women were summarized by searching relevant literature over nearly two decades. RESULTS: The unique sonographic presentations including peeling skin, clenched hands and clubfeet, ectropion, flat nose, fetal growth impairment, polyhydramnios and echogenic amniotic fluid may be primarily related to skin disorders in HI fetuses. The authors also identified a novel pathogenic ABCA12 gene mutation and explained the possible pathogenic mechanisms. STUDY LIMITATIONS: Caution should be exercised in summarizing disease characteristics because of the small number of cases, and the authors are faced with the possibility of incomplete case searching. CONCLUSIONS: HI has relatively unique sonographic features. Therefore, 2D-ultrasound combined with 3D-ultrasound may be an effective method for the prenatal diagnosis of HI. Moreover, a novel pathogenic ABCA12 gene mutation may provide important clues for future research on the etiology of HI. However, the authors consider that additional studies are needed to provide more evidence for prenatal diagnosis.

OBJECTIVE: The classic triad, which defines IFAP syndrome, is ichthyosis follicularis, alopecia, and photophobia. It is a rare X-linked genetic disorder characterized by multiple congenital anomalies with variable severity, caused by pathogenic variants in the MBTPS2 gene, which encodes a zinc metalloprotease that is essential for normal development. This study aimed to report a case of a Brazilian patient with IFAP syndrome presenting skeletal anomalies, which is a rare finding among patients from different families. CASE DESCRIPTION: We describe a male proband with IFAP syndrome showing severe ichthyosis congenita, cryptorchidism, limb malformation, and comprising the BRESHECK syndrome features. Using whole-exome sequencing, we identified a rare missense variant in hemizygosity in the MBTPS2 gene, which had not been identified in other family members. COMMENTS: This is the first diagnosis of IFAP syndrome in Brazil with a molecular investigation. The present case study thus expands our knowledge on the mutational spectrum of MBPTS2 associated with IFAP syndrome.

Introduction: Lamellar ichthyosis is an autosomal recessive congenital disease that causes dryness of the skin in the perioral region, which leads to pain during dental hygiene. Thus, the diet of patients with this disease tends to be pasty, which can lead to oral problems. Hyposalivation is suspected to be an oral manifestation of lamellar ichthyosis and may exert an influence on the incidence of carious lesions. Objective: Describe the treatment of a female patient diagnosed with lamellar ichthyosis who sought dental care initially when two years of age with complaints of dental pain, feeding difficulties and low weight. Case report: Atraumatic restorative treatment, extractions and topical application of fluoride varnish were performed in the patient, aesthetic of posterior installation of space, which also functioned as a rehabilitator. Conclusion: This study reinforces the need for the follow-up of the patient with LI by the dental surgeon since the birth of the first tooth, as dryness of the perioral skin and hyposalivation are conditions reported in individuals with lamellar ichthyosis. These conditions can affect oral hygiene and the frequency of carious lesions.
Introdução: A ictiose lamelar é uma doença congênita autossômica recessiva que causa ressecamento da pele na região peribucal, o que leva à dor durante a higiene dental, por isso a alimentação dos pacientes com essa doença tende a ser pastosa, podendo levar a problemas bucais. Suspeita-se que a hipossalivação possa ser uma manifestação oral da ictiose lamelar, podendo influenciar na incidência de lesões cariosas. Objetivo: Descrever o tratamento de uma paciente do sexo feminino, inicialmente com 2 anos de idade, diagnosticada com ictiose lamelar (IL), que procurou atendimento odontológico com queixa de dor dentária, dificuldade na alimentação e baixo peso. Relato do caso: Tratamento restaurador atraumático, exodontias e aplicação tópica de verniz fluoretado foram realizados na paciente, além de posterior instalação de mantenedor de espaço, o qual também funcionou como reabilitador estético. Conclusão: Este estudo reforça a necessidade do acompanhamento do paciente com IL pelo cirurgião dentista desde o nascimento do primeiro dente, pois secura da pele perioral e hipossalivação são condições relatadas em indivíduos com ictiose lamelar. Essas condições podem afetar a higiene bucal e a frequência de lesões cariosas.

BACKGROUND: Ichthyosis is a heterogeneous group of diseases caused by genetic disorders related to skin formation. They are characterized by generalized dry skin, scaling, hyperkeratosis and frequently associated with erythroderma. Among its different types, harlequin ichthyosis (HI) stands out due to its severity. HI is caused by mutations in the ABCA12 gene, which encodes essential proteins in epidermal lipid transport, and it helps maintain the homeostasis of the stratum corneum of the epidermis. However, due to the wide spectrum of genetic alterations that can cause ichthyosis, holistic medical care, and genetic studies are required to improve the diagnosis and outcomes of these diseases. CASE PRESENTATION: Here, we presented the case of a 19 years old male patient who was a premature infant and exhibited clinical features consistent with HI, including bright yellow hyperkeratotic plates with erythematous fissures that covered his entire body like a collodion baby. Currently, he exhibited erythroderma, photosensitivity, ectropion, auricular pavilion alterations, and musculoskeletal disorders, such as equinovarus feet, fingers, hands, and hypoplastic feet with contractures in flexion and marked difficulty in fine motor skills. In addition, he presented dyschromatopsia, Achilles reflex hyporeflexia, slight speech, dental alteration and deficient cognitive performance. After the genetic sequencing, variants were found in ABCA12 and HRNR which are related to several skin diseases, including ichthyosis. CONCLUSIONS: Although in clinical practice, ichthyosis is a common entity, a severe type of ichthyosis is presented, highlighting the importance of appropriate genetic diagnosis, given the broad spectrum of genetic alterations with similar phenotypic and clinical characteristics. These pathologies must be known to guarantee initial support measures to prevent complications and offer multidisciplinary management to those patients.

Lamellar ichthyosis (LI) is a genetic skin disorder characterized by dark brown scales, palmoplantar hyperkeratosis, pain, and itching. LI severity could have implications in psychological aspects, causing depression and impairment in the quality of life (QoL) of patients. In this study, we used the Congenital Ichthyosis Severity Index, the Depression Beck Inventory-II (DBI-II), and the Dermatologic Life Quality Index (DLQI) to assess severity, level of depression, and impairment in QoL in a group of patients with LI. We observed that the majority of the patients presented a high severity level concerning the presence of scales (57.7%), while for erythema and alopecia, the severity was less 80% of the analyzed patients presented depression, while only 20.8% of individuals of the control group presented it (P < .001, OR = 15.2). While for QoL, only 4.3% of the patients did not exhibit any impairment. Finally, the increase in the score obtained in DBI-II was correlated with the DLQI score (rs = 0.663, P = .0014). Our results suggest that patients with LI have an increased risk of suffering depression and impairment in their QoL; thus, the management of their disease should be performed from a multidisciplinary perspective to improve the global aspects of their lives.

RESUMEN Las genodermatosis ictiosiformes constituyen un grupo heterogéneo de trastornos de la cornificación caracterizados por hiperqueratosis y descamación de la piel. La ictiosis arlequín es la forma más grave y agresiva de las ictiosis congénitas, presenta una baja prevalencia (1/300 000 nacimientos) con expresividad clínica variable, una evolución desfavorable y pronóstico reservado. Se presenta con un patrón autosómico recesivo y su diagnóstico prenatal es aún difícil. Se presentó el caso de un recién nacido masculino pretérmino de 34 semanas gestacionales, sin historia familiar de trastornos de piel, con un cuadro característico de ictiosis arlequín, quien falleció a los 11 días de vida. Se realizó la caracterización clínica y anatomopatológica de la enfermedad y se ofrece una revisión sobre esta rara entidad (AU).
ABSTRACT Ichthyosiform genodermatoses are a heterogeneous group of cornification disorders characterized by hyperkeratosis and skin flaking. Harlequin ichthyosis is the most aggressive and serious form of congenital ichthyoses, presenting a low prevalence (1/300 000 births), with variable clinical expressivity, an unfavorable evolution and reserved prognosis. It appears with an autosomal recessive pattern and its prenatal diagnosis is still difficult. The authors present the case of a male preterm newborn, of 34 gestational weeks, without family history of skin disorders, and clinical characteristics of Harlequin ichthyosis, who died at the 11 day of birth. The disease clinical and anatomopathologic characterization was carried out and a review of this rare entity is made (AU).

BACKGROUND: Autosomal recessive congenital ichthyoses (ARCI) are inherited disorders produced by mutations in essential genes for the skin function. A low prevalence of this disease has been resported worldwide; however, in a recent study, we identified a large cluster of ARCI families who resided in the High Mountains Region from the Veracruz State, Mexico. Thus, we aimed to identify the causative mutation of ARCI and describe the high prevalence of this disease in this region. METHODS: We selected seven familiar trios and performed whole-exome sequencing to identify the mutation associated with ARCI. To validate the identified mutation, we performed Sanger sequencing in 62 patients, 30 unaffected relatives, and 100 healthy volunteers. Finally, we performed molecular modeling to investigate the possible functional consequences produced by the mutation. RESULTS: We identified a novel homozygous mutation (c.1054C>G [p.Pro352Ala]) in the exon 7 of the TGM1 gene in all the patients. We calculated a prevalence rate of ARCI of 74:100,000 (1:1,348) in the studied communities. Molecular modeling revealed that the mutation leads to a nonconservative amino acid substitution, which is very probably damaging to the protein structure/function. CONCLUSIONS: We report a novel mutation in the TGM1 gene in 62 Mexican patients. The unusually high frequency of this mutation suggests a founder effect; however, further haplotype analysis is necessary to corroborate this hypothesis. In this respect, to our knowledge, the prevalence of ARCI found in the studied communities is the highest observed worldwide.

Resumen Las ictiosis congénitas autosómicas recesivas (ICAR) son poco frecuentes a nivel mundial con una incidencia de 1:300,000 nacimientos, se caracterizan por trastornos de la queratinización, entre sus variantes engloban las formas no sindrómicas de ictiosis, como la ictiosis laminar (IL), la eritrodermiaictiosiforme congénita (EIC) y actualmente se incluyen la ictiosis arlequín, el bebé colodión autorresolutivo, el bebé colodión autorresolutivoacral y la ictiosis en traje de baño. Desde el punto de vista genético son heterogéneas, originadas por una mutación en el gen de la transglutaminasa 1 y se las haasociado a TGM1, ALOXE3, ALOX12B, NIPAL4, CYP4F22 y ABCA12. Clínicamente, la ictiosis se caracteriza principalmente por piel gruesa, escamas laminares adherentes con hendiduras profundas. En este trabajo pretende revisar los conocimientos actuales en el campo de las ICAR, incluyendo aspectos clínicos, histológicos, ultraestructurales, genético-moleculares, tratamiento,y también su manejo clínico.
Abstract The autosomal recessive congenital ichthyosis (ARCI) is a rare worldwide condition with an incidence of (1: 300,000 births), characterized by disorders of keratinization, among its variants encompass the non-syndromic forms of ichthyosis, such as laminar ichthyosis (IL) , congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma (EIC) and currently include harlequin ichthyosis, self-healing colodion baby, acral self-healing colodion baby and ichthyosis in swimsuits. From a genetic point of view, they're heterogeneous, originated by a mutation in the gene of transglutaminase 1 and associated with TGM1, ALOXE3, ALOX12B, NIPAL4, CYP4F22 and ABCA12. Clinically, ichthyosis is mainly characterized by thick skin, adherent lamellar scales with deep clefts. The aim of this work is to review the current knowledge in the field of ICAR, including clinical, histological, ultrastructural, genetic-molecular and therapeutic aspects as well as its clinical management.

INTRODUCCIÓN: la ictiosis es una enfermedad de origen genético que afecta principalmente la piel, posee varios tipos dependiendo el patrón de herencia. Dentro de las dominantes encontramos a la ictiosis vulgar, y en las recesivas la Ictiosis laminar, Eritroderma ictiosiforme, arlequín. La ictiosis laminar es una genodermatitis congénita que según datos estadísticos internacionales (EUA) reporta 1:200 000-300 000 recién nacidos, dentro de las bases de datos consultadas en Honduras, no se encontró la incidencia y prevalencia de esta enfermedad. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: se analizó el árbol genealógico de 6 pacientes más la valoración de las manifestaciones clínicas propias de cada individuo para determinar el patrón de herencia específico y así identificar el tipo de ictiosis. RESULTADO: el análisis mostró un patrón de herencia autosómico recesivo, consanguinidad en padres de los pacientes. CONCLUSIONES: La realización de un pedigrí es esencial en conjunto con la exploración clínica para el diagnóstico de ictiosis, en ausencia de pruebas genéticas e histopatológicas.
INTRODUCTION: ichthyosis is a disease of genetic origin in which the skin is mainly affected, it has different types depending on the inheritance pattern. Within the dominants we find the ichthyosis vulgaris and on the recessive ones we have the lamellar ichthyosis, harlequin Ichthyosis and Ichthyosiform erythroderma. Lamellar Ichthyosis is a congenital genodermatitis that according to international statistical data (US) it reports 1:200 000-300 000 newborns. Within the databases consulted in Honduras no prevalence and incidence of the disease was found. MATERIALS AND METHODS: it was analyzed the genealogical tree of 6 patients plus the valuation of clinical manifestations of each individual to determine the specific inheritance pattern to identify the type of Ichthyosis. RESULTS: the analysis demonstrated an autosomal inheritance pattern and consanguinity in the patient's parents. CONCLUSIONS: the realization of a pedigree it's essential in conjunction with clinical examination for the diagnosis of ichthyosis in absence of histopathologic and genetical tests.

OBJECTIVE: To present the nursing care of a newborn with Lamellar Ichthyosis admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of a public children's hospital in a municipality in the state of Paraná, Brazil. METHOD: A qualitative intralocal study implementing the Case Study methodology, in which a real case was explored in a delimited system with data collection from multiple sources of information during 66 days of hospitalization in 2016. RESULTS: The nursing care present in the protocol was based on: maintaining skin integrity through hydration and continuous lubrication with emollients, temperature control, nutrition and prevention of secondary infections. CONCLUSION: Through the case study, it is affirmed that implementation of the Nursing Process, especially the care plan, was essential for the multidisciplinary success of the treatment. There was improvement in the skin and mucous membranes, as well as prevention of infections, culminating in favorable survival conditions and the autonomy of parents for home care.

An unusually high frequency of the lamellar ichthyosis TGM1 mutation, c.1187G > A, has been observed in the Ecuadorian province of Manabí. Recently, the same mutation has been detected in a Galician patient (Northwest of Spain). By analyzing patterns of genetic variation around this mutation in Ecuadorian patients and population matched controls, we were able to estimate the age of c.1187G > A and the time to their most recent common ancestor (TMRCA) of c.1187G > A Ecuadorian carriers. While the estimated mutation age is 41 generations ago (~1,025 years ago [ya]), the TMRCA of Ecuadorian c.1187G > A carrier haplotypes dates to just 17 generations (~425 ya). Probabilistic-based inferences of local ancestry allowed us to infer a most likely European origin of a few (16% to 30%) Ecuadorian haplotypes carrying this mutation. In addition, inferences on demographic historical changes based on c.1187G > A Ecuadorian carrier haplotypes estimated an exponential population growth starting ~20 generations, compatible with a recent founder effect occurring in Manabí. Two main hypotheses can be considered for the origin of c.1187G > A: (i) the mutation could have arisen in Spain >1,000 ya (being Galicia the possible homeland) and then carried to Ecuador by Spaniards in colonial times ~400 ya, and (ii) two independent mutational events originated this mutation in Ecuador and Galicia. The geographic and cultural characteristics of Manabí could have favored a founder effect that explains the high prevalence of TGM1 c.1187G > A in this region.

BACKGROUND: Autosomal recessive congenital ichthyoses (ARCI) have been associated with different phenotypes including: harlequin ichthyosis (HI), congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma (CIE), and lamellar ichthyosis (LI). While pathogenic variants in all ARCI genes are associated with LI and CIE phenotypes, the unique gene associated with HI is ABCA12. In HI, the most severe ARCI form, pathogenic variants in both ABCA12 gene alleles usually have a severe impact on protein function. The presence of at least one non-truncating variant frequently causes a less severe congenital ichthyosis phenotype (LI and CIE). METHODS: We report the case of a 4-year-old Ecuadorian boy with a severe skin disease. Genetic diagnosis was performed by NGS. In silico predictions were performed using Alamut software v2.11. A review of the literature was carried out to identify all patients carrying ABCA12 splice-site and missense variants, and to explore their genotype-phenotype correlations. RESULTS: Genetic testing revealed a nonsense substitution, p.(Arg2204*), and a new missense variant, p.(Val1927Leu), in the ABCA12 gene. After performing in silico analysis and a comprehensive review of the literature, we conclude that p.(Val1927Leu) affects a well conserved residue which could either disturb the protein function or alter the splicing process, both alternatives could explain the severe phenotype of our patient. CONCLUSION: This case expands the spectrum of ABCA12 reported disease-causing variants which is important to unravel genotype-phenotype correlations and highlights the importance of missense variants in the development of HI.

Contexto: A ictiose lamelar é uma genodermatose rara, de herança autossômica recessiva. Pode ser causada por diferentes genes, principalmente mutação no gene TGM1 (transglutaminase 1) no cromossomo 14, e tem incidência de 1 caso em cada 200 mil nascidos vivos. A ictiose lamelar é causa de importante impacto na qualidade de vida. Relato da comunicação: Paciente do sexo feminino, 44 anos, procura atendimento médico para investigação de sintomas psiquiátricos, os quais foram avaliados. Foi afastado qualquer quadro psiquiátrico. Encaminhada à dermatologia, devido a evidente descamação lamelar disseminada, queratodermia palmoplantar, onicodistrofias e ectrópio bipalpebral. O exame clínico dermatológico e a avaliação histopatológica, evidenciaram características de ictiose lamelar, nunca tratada. Discussão: A ictiose lamelar é, na maioria das vezes, diagnosticada ao nascimento, com apresentação clínica muitas vezes sob a forma de bebê colódio. Este caso apresentou-se na vida adulta, com história desde o nascimento e, portanto, descartou-se a ictiose adquirida, relacionada a afecções nutricionais, metabólicas ou até paraneoplásicas. Conclusões: Este caso ilustra as manifestações da ictiose lamelar em paciente adulta em sua evolução natural, sem a interferência de tratamento.

INTRODUCTION: Harlequin ichthyosis (HI) is a severe and rare hereditary congenital skin disorder characterized by excessive dryness, ectropion and eclabion. The association of ichthyosis with systemic sclerosis has been described in only three children. No patient with generalized morphea (GM) associated with harlequin ichthyosis was described. CASE REPORT: A 4-years and 6-months girl, diagnosed with harlequin ichthyosis based on diffuse cutaneous thickening, scaling, erythema, ectropion and eclabium since the first hours of birth was described. She was treated with acitretin (1.0mg/kg/day) and emollient cream. At 3 years and 9 months, she developed muscle contractures with pain on motion and limitation in elbows and knees, and diffuse sclerodermic plaques on the abdomen, back, suprapubic area and lower limbs. Skin biopsy showed rectified epidermis and mild hyperorthokeratosis, reticular dermis with perivascular and periadnexal infiltrates of lymphocytes and mononuclear cells, and reticular dermis and sweat gland sclerosis surrounded by a dense collagen tissue, compatible with scleroderma. The patient fulfilled the GM subtype criteria. Methotrexate and prednisone were introduced. At 4 years and 3 months, new scleroderma lesions occurred and azathioprine was associated with previous therapy, with no apparent changes after two months. DISCUSSION: A case of harlequin ichthyosis associated with a GM was reported. The treatment of these two conditions is a challenge and requires a multidisciplinary team.

La eritrodermia ictiosiforme congénita no ampollosa es una genodermatosis que está presente desde el nacimiento y el pénfigo vegetante es una enfermedad ampollar que aparece en edades tempranas de la vida, las manifestaciones clínicas de estas entidades son diferentes, ambas son infrecuentes cuando se presentan aisladamente, mucho más cuando aparecen en un mismo paciente. Objetivo: Describir el caso de un paciente con eritrodermia ictiosiforme congénita no ampollosa y pénfigo vegetante por ser una situación clínica rara por su incidencia. Presentación de caso: Paciente de 28 años, con antecedentes de padecer de eritrodermia ictiosiforme congénita no ampollosa, que comenzó a desarrollar ampollas y al romperse dejaban erosiones que más tarde dieron lugar a vegetaciones hipertróficas y papilomatosas. Para arribar al diagnóstico se tuvo en cuenta el criterio clínico y la histopatología. Conclusiones: La eritrodermia ictiosiforme congénita no ampollosa y el pénfigo vegetante son entidades infrecuentes en la práctica médica, mucho más cuando se presenten ambas en un mismo paciente(AU)

Case presentation: Patient of 28 years, with antecedents of suffering of non-bullous congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma that began to develop blisters and when breaking they left erosions that later gave place to hypertrophic and papillomatous vegetation. To arrive to the diagnosis was kept in mind the clinical approach and the histopathology. Conclusions: The non-bullous congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma and the vegetating pemphigus are uncommon entities in the medical practice, much more when both are presented in a patient(AU)

Resumo Introdução Ictiose arlequim é uma doença cutânea congênita grave, autossômica e rara, caracterizada por ressecamento excessivo da pele e hiperqueratose. A associação de ictiose com esclerose sistêmica foi descrita em apenas três crianças. Ainda não foi descrito nenhum paciente com morfeia generalizada (MG) associada à ictiose arlequim. Relato de caso: Menina de quatro anos e seis meses de idade com diagnóstico de ictiose arlequim baseado em espessamento cutâneo difuso, com fissuras, descamação, eritema e sangramento da lesão desde as primeiras horas de vida. A paciente foi tratada com acitretina (1,0 mg/kg/dia) e creme emoliente. Aos três anos e nove meses, desenvolveu contraturas musculares com dor à movimentação e limitação nos cotovelos e joelhos e placas esclerodérmicas difusas no abdômen, nas costas, na região suprapúbica e nas extremidades inferiores. A biópsia de pele mostrou epiderme retificada e hiperqueratose leve, derme reticular com linfócitos, infiltrado mononuclear perivascular e perianexial e esclerose da derme reticular e glândula sudorípara rodeada por um tecido colágeno denso, compatível com esclerodermia. A paciente preencheu os critérios para o subtipo MG. Metotrexato e prednisona foram introduzidos. Aos quatro anos e três meses, apresentou novas lesões esclerodérmicas, associando-se azatioprina à terapêutica anterior, sem resposta após dois meses. Discussão: Um caso de ictiose arlequim associada à MG foi descrito. O tratamento dessas duas condições é um desafio e requer uma equipe multidisciplinar.
Abstract Introduction: Harlequin ichthyosis (HI) is a severe and rare hereditary congenital skin disorder characterized by excessive dryness, ectropion and eclabion. The association of ichthyosis with systemic sclerosis has been described in only three children. No patient with generalized morphea (GM) associated with harlequin ichthyosis was described.
