ABSTRACT
This paper deals with one aspect of disasters in Argentina's urban spaces. It makes reference to some physical events-i.e. rainfall- occurring in the country's Federal District, and bringing about a number of alterations in the population's everyday life and giving rise to several negative impacts on its quality of life. It consists of some background, an introduction and a brief story of floods in the city of Buenos Aires, dwelling on their causes in some detail.
