RESUMEN
Fundamentos La migraña es una patología con alta prevalencia en todo el mundo. Su etiología es poco clara. Hay evidencias que demuestran que la fisiopatología de la migraña implica factores inmunológicos y del estrés oxidativo, donde la dieta puede jugar un papel clave en la prevención de los ataques. El objetivo fue conocer el efecto de la ingesta de diferentes componentes de la dieta, en mujeres en edad fértil (entre dieciocho y cincuenta años de edad) que sufren migraña aguda.

Métodos:

Se realizó una búsqueda en los buscadores Pubmed, "Web of knowledge" y Scopus en los años 2012-2017. En la estrategia de búsqueda se usaron sinónimos de migraña ("migraine" y "headache") y palabras clave de los objetivos ("diet", "oxidative stress" y "phyto").

Resultados:

En la búsqueda inicial se encontraron 137 artículos en total, de los cuales se incluyeron 41 estudios en esta revisión. De estos artículos, 20 hacían referencia a factores dietéticos relacionados en el proceso de migraña; 4 a tratamientos fitoterapéuticos y 17 a procesos inflamatorios y estrés oxidativo relacionados con la migraña.

Conclusiones:

Conocer y controlar el efecto de determinados alimentos/nutrientes sobre el organismo puede mejorar la sintomatología de la migraña clásica
ABSTRACT

Background:

Migraine is a high prevalent disease worldwide and its aetiology is still unclear. There is evidence that the pathophysiology of migraine involves immune response and oxidative stress, while diet can play a key role in preventing migraine attacks. The objective was to know the effect of the different components of the diet on women between eighteen and fifty years of age suffering from acute migraine.

Methods:

From a total number of 137 articles found only 41 studies were included in the final review. Twenty were related to diet factors and the migraine's process; 4 were related to phytotherapeutic treatments and the remaining 17 articles were about low-grade inflammation and oxidative stress process in relation to migraine.

Results:

At first, it searched 137 articles were found in total, which 41 studies were included in this review. Of these articles, 20 were referred to a diet factors related with the migrain's process; 4 were referred to phytotherapeutic treatments and the remaining 17 articles were referred to a low-grade inflammation and oxidative stress process related with migraine.

Conclusions:

Certain foods or nutrients in the diet, can improve the symptomatology of classic migraine
