Formación de capital humano para su desempeño en bibliotecas médicas desde 1970 hasta 2008 en Santiago de Cuba / Training of library workers for their performance in medical libraries from 1970 to 2008 in Santiago de Cuba

RESUMEN

Se ofrecen datos relacionados con la formación de técnicos medios en Información Cientificotécnica y Bibliotecología Médica en Santiago de Cuba, para lo cual se consultaron los registros existentes en la Secretaría de la Facultad de Enfermería, antiguo Instituto Politécnico de la Salud No. 1 Máximo Gómez Báez, y fueron entrevistadas las bibliotecarias de la red y del Centro Provincial de Información de Ciencias Médicas, incluidas las de las 3 primeras bibliotecas de las que se tienen referencias, pioneras en esta actividad. De igual forma se contactó con la responsable de la Cátedra de Gestión de Información en Salud en la Facultad de Tecnología de la Salud Juan M. Páez Inchausti para obtener el número total de graduados. Desde los comienzos de esta especialidad hasta hoy se ha producido un avance vertiginoso en varias direcciones, por cuanto se han multiplicado las unidades de información en el territorio, incrementado la superación del personal técnico que labora en las diferentes instituciones de salud, así como ampliado la formación de los nuevos tecnólogos de un sexo y otro que se incorporan a la red.

ABSTRACT

Data related with the formation of middle technician in Scientific and Technical Information and Medical Library Science in Santiago de Cuba are exposed, for this, the existent records in the Secretary of the Nursing Faculty, old Maximum Gómez Báez" Health Polytechnical Institute No. 1 were consulted, and the net librarians and those in the Provincial Information Center of Medical Sciences were interviewed. Those of the first three references libraries considered pioneers in this activity were included. Also the responsible for the Health Information Management in Juan M. Páez Inchausti Health Technology Faculty was contacted to obtain the total number of graduates. Since the beginnings of this specialty up to now a vertiginous advance has taken place in several directions, since the information institutions have grown in number in the territory, and the technical personnel performance working in the different health institutions have increased, as well as this has developed the training of the new technologists from one sex or another who form part of the net.
