Acute leukaemia and alkali resistant haemoglobin

ABSTRACT

A case is described of a middle-aged negro woman with acute myeloid leukemia associated with a raised level of alkali resistant haemoglobin (A.R.Hb.). Family studies were negative and the increases in A.R.Hb. appears to have resulted from a disturbance in haemoglobin synthesis related in some way to the leukemic process.
