ABSTRACT

Out of a total adult censused population of 826 respondents, of Plymouth-Bethesda in 1976, 88 people have died. The fasting and 1-hr post glucose-load blood sugar, the serum uric acid and the systolic blood pressure levels were higher than those of the population in general and, except for systolic blood pressure, higher than those for age group 55-64 years. (Table Included) Alcohol consumption, alcoholism, ponderal index, cigarette smoking, and E.C.G. findings did not differ from those of the general population.
