ABSTRACT
The XIX the century registered the advent f a new way of understanding and exploring subjectivity, that had its genesis in contemporary literary critic and influenced both philosophy of that time and the beginning of what is conventionally called"social sciences". Known as Romanticism, this literary movement brought to light desires and emotions that the previous two centuries tried to hide of the social space. By the point of view of psychology, it calls attention to the fact that this affects and hankerings explored by the romantic sensibility are the same described by Sigmund Freud as"pervetion". The way the feminine form, as well as the male form, were treated by the arts at that time denounce a morbid way in which the romantic men lived and understood their sexuality.(AU)
