Comparative Analysis of Preoperative B-mode Ultrasonography in the Diagnosis of Intra and Extrahepatic Calculi-with Operative Results (A Report of 168 Cases) / 中华超声影像学杂志

ABSTRACT

We studied and compared 168 patients with intra and extrahepatic calculi treated by surgery with the results of preoperative B-mode ultrasonography between July, 1984 and Oct. 1990. The results reveal that the diagnostic rate of preoperative B-mode ultrasound of left, right lobe intrahepatic calculi and extrahepatic calculi are 69.7%, 84.3% and 79.2%, with false negative rate 28%, 11.8% and 19.2%, and false positive rate 2.3%, 3.9% and 1.6%, respectively the results indicate the clinical value of preoperative B-mode sonography in the diagnosis of intra and extrahepatic calculi. The causes of false negative and positive rate by B-mode ultrasound were also analysed and discussed.
