ABSTRACT
In order to study the relations between the nutrition of pregnant wo- men and the diseases arising from nutritional anaemia, we investigated the nutritional status of pregnant women in Harbin, from March to October, 1982.The results revealed that the food components of diets of pregnant women are rather rational, that the calorie and other nutrients satisfy their basic needs, but the calcium, vitamin A, carotene, riboflavin and ascorbic acid are insufficient and only reach 30-60% of the recommended allowance.Since the dietary iron originates from corn and plants and the food is lacking of meat and ascorbic acid, so the utilization rate of iron is rather low although its allowance is enough. So the incidence of anaemia in the pregnant women is also rather high.According to the results, we suggest that nutritional recipes should be put forword to improve the nutritional status of pregnant women.
