RESUMO

In this Letter, we focus on investigating the ultrafast photonics applications of two-layer HfS3 nanosheets. We prepared two-layer HfS3 nanosheets and carried out experiments to study their nonlinear saturable absorption properties. The results showed that the two-layer HfS3-based saturable absorber exhibited a modulation depth of 16.8%. Additionally, we conducted theoretical calculations using first principles to estimate the structural and electronic band properties of the two-layer HfS3 material. Furthermore, we utilized the two-layer HfS3 materials as SAs in an erbium-doped fiber cavity to generate mode-locked laser pulses. We measured a repetition frequency of 8.74 MHz, a pulse duration of 540 fs, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 77 dB. Overall, our findings demonstrate that the two-layer HfS3 material can serve as a reliable saturable absorber, possessing properties comparable to currently used two-dimensional materials. This expands the application fields of HfS3 materials and highlights their potential for advanced optoelectronic devices.

RESUMO

The expression of phosphodiesterase 7A (PDE7A) and phosphodiesterase 8A (PDE8) genes is integral to human signaling pathways, and the inhibition of PDE7A has been associated with the onset of various diseases, including effects on the immune system and nervous system. The development of PDE7 selective inhibitors can promote research on immune and nervous system diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, chronic inflammation, and autoimmune responses. PDE8A is expressed alongside PDE8B, and its inhibitory mechanism is still unclear. Studying the mechanisms of selective inhibitors against different PDE subtypes is crucial to prevent potential side effects, such as nausea and cardiac toxicity, and the sequence similarity of the two protein subtypes was 55.9%. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the differences of both subtypes' ligand binding sites. Selective inhibitors of two proteins were chosen to summarize the reason for their selectivity through molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulation, alanine scanning mutagenesis, and MM-GBSA calculation. We found that Phe384PDE7A, Leu401PDE7A, Gln413PDE7A, Tyr419PDE7A, and Phe416PDE7A in the active site positively contribute to the selectivity towards PDE7A. Additionally, Asn729PDE8A, Phe767PDE8A, Gln778PDE8A, and Phe781PDE8A positively contribute to the selectivity towards PDE8A.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Abdominal perineal resection (APR) of rectal cancer, also known as Mile's procedure, is a classic procedure for the treatment of rectal cancer. Through the improvement of surgical skills and neoadjuvant therapy, the sphincter-preserving rate in rectal cancer patients has improved, even in patients with ultralow rectal cancer who underwent APR in the past. However, APR cannot be completely replaced by low anterior resection (LAR) in reality. APR still has its indications, when the tumor affects the external sphincter, etc. Good perineal exposure in APR is difficult and can seriously affect surgical safety and the long-term prognosis. METHODS: We reviewed the records of 16 consecutive patients with rectal cancer who underwent APR at Anqing Municipal Hospital from January 2022 to April 2023, including 11 males and 5 females, with an average age of 64.8 ± 10.3 years. The perineal operation was completed with the Lone-Star® retractor-assisted (LSRA) exposure method. After incising the skin and subcutaneous tissue, a Lone-Star® retractor was placed, and the incision was retracted in surrounding directions with 8 small retractors, which facilitated the freeing of deep tissues. We dynamically adjusted the retractor according to the plane to fully expose the surgical field. RESULTS: All 16 patients underwent laparoscopic-assisted APR successfully. Thirteen procedures were performed independently by a single person, and the others were completed by two persons due to intraoperative arterial hemostasis. All specimens were free of perforation and had a negative circumferential resection margin (CRM). Postoperative complications occurred in 4 patients, including urinary retention in 1 patient, pulmonary infection in 1 patient, intestinal adhesion in 1 patient and peristomal dermatitis in 1 patient, and were graded as ClavienDindo grade 3 or lower and cured. No distant metastasis or local recurrence was found for any of the patients in the postoperative follow-up. CONCLUSIONS: The application of the LSRA exposure method might be helpful for perineal exposure during APR for rectal cancer, which could improve intraoperative safety and surgical efficiency, achieve one-person operation, and increase the comfort of operators.

RESUMO

Chromium oxide (Cr2O3) is a promising material used in the applications such as photoelectrochemical devices, photocatalysis, magnetic random access memory, and gas sensors. But, its nonlinear optical characteristics and applications in ultrafast optics have not been studied yet. This study prepares a microfiber decorated with a Cr2O3 film via magnetron sputtering deposition and examines its nonlinear optical characteristics. The modulation depth and saturation intensity of this device are determined as 12.52% and 0.0176 MW/cm2. Meanwhile, the Cr2O3-microfiber is applied as a saturable absorber in an Er-doped fiber laser, and stable Q-switching and mode-locking laser pulses are successfully generated. In the Q-switched working state, the highest output power and shortest pulse width are measured as 12.8 mW and 1.385 µs, respectively. The pulse duration of this mode-locked fiber laser is as short as 334 fs, and its signal-to-noise ratio is 65 dB. As far as we know, this is the first illustration of using Cr2O3 in ultrafast photonics. The results confirm that Cr2O3 is a promising saturable absorber material and significantly extend the scope of saturable absorber materials for innovative fiber laser technologies.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Microwave ablation (MWA) via ultrasound guidance is an important tool in the treatment of liver metastases. The most common postoperative complications are abdominal hemorrhage and bile leakage, whereas thrombosis in the suprahepatic inferior vena cava (IVC) is very rare, and clinical management is very difficult when the head end of the thrombus reaches the right atrium. CASE PRESENTATION: This is a case report of a 52-year-old man with hepatic metastasis 21 months after radical resection of rectal cancer. After chemotherapy combined with targeted therapy, metastasis in segment IV (S4) of the liver was treated with microwave ablation. Two months after treatment, the hepatic metastasis in S4 showed a microwave ablation zone on MRI.Enhanced MRI showed venous thrombosis located in the left hepatic vein and IVC, and the head of the thrombus reached the right atrium. After two weeks of anticoagulation and thrombolytic treatment, the follow-up MRI showed that the venous thrombus had nearly disappeared. CONCLUSION: When liver metastases are close to the hepatic vein, clinicians should pay attention to the occurrence of hepatic vein and IVC thrombosis following MWA; through early diagnosis and anticoagulation, pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) can be minimized.

RESUMO

It was to make use of the nano-targeted drugs and angioplastry to treat and prevent the vascular restenosis and analyze its influence on monocyte chemotactic protein 1 (MCP-1) of lower extremity angiopathy (LEA) patients since the patients with diabetic lower extremity angiopathy may be easily infected with vascular restenosis. In this article, the dexamethasone nano drugs were firstly prepared. After that, its related physical and chemical properties were tested, then, dexamethasone nano drugs were applied in treating patients with diabetic lower extremity angiopathy. The results showed that the prepared dexamethasone nanoparticles' encapsulation rate attained 99.2%. The laser light scattering experiment manifested that the particle size of the nanoparticles ranged from 200 to 300nm, and the average particle size was 258nm. The MCP-1 of the control group, conventional group, and observation group were 33.28±1.93 µg/mL, 78.27±9.73 µg/mL, and 75.29±8.99 µg/mL, respectively. The MCP-1 values of the conventional and observation groups were higher than that of the control group, and there was a notable difference (P<0.05). After interventional treatment, the MCP-1 level of the conventional group was 57.82±5.82 µg/mL, and that of the observation group was 41.93±6.92 µg/mL. The MCP-1 level of the group which received the treatment of nano-targeted drugs and angioplastry was superior to that of the conventional group which received the traditional operation, and there was a notable difference (P<0.05). In conclusion, MCP-1 is one of the major causes of lower extremity angiopathy. The nano-targeted drugs and angioplastry can raise the expression level of MCP-1 in patients with lower extremity angiopathy. The experimental results had a high application value and the nano-targeted drugs & angioplastry can be promoted clinically.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Intravascular tumor thrombi are mainly found in patients with liver cancer or renal carcinoma but rarely occur in those with rectal cancer. CASE PRESENTATION: This is a case report of a 58-year-old woman with a swollen right lower extremity 14 months after radical resection for rectal cancer. Although ultrasonography indicated the presence of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) located in the right common iliac vein, interventional angiography showed that a circular mass, considered a tumor thrombus, was located in the right common iliac vein. The tumor thrombus was cured by interventional therapy, and the pathological report confirmed that the metastatic tumor thrombus originated from the rectal cancer. The patient underwent concurrent chemoradiotherapy and systemic therapy. However, right lung, retroperitoneum, and 2nd sacral vertebral metastases were discovered during follow-up. CONCLUSION: The correct diagnosis of a tumor thrombus and its differentiation from DVT can prevent incorrect treatment and prolong the survival of patients with rectal cancer.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Wear resistance affects dental ceramics longevity and the functions of the opposing teeth. However, data for the effect of aqueous environment on wear resistance of dental ceramics are lacking. This study evaluated the effect of aqueous environment on wear resistance of typical dental glass-ceramics. METHODS: Disk specimens were prepared from lithium disilicate glass-ceramics (LD) and leucite reinforced glass-ceramics (LEU). The disk specimens paired with steatite antagonists were tested in a pin-on-disk tribometer under both wet and dry conditions with 10 N up to 500,000 wear cycles. The wear analysis of glass-ceramics was performed using a 3D profilometer after 100,000, 300,000 and 500,000 wear cycles. Wear morphologies were analyzed by employing scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The crystalline compositions of specimens stored in a dry environment and subsequently immersed in distilled water for 40 h were separately determined using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The chemical states of the wear surfaces for LD were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The data analysis and multiple pair-wise comparisons of means were performed by using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's post-hoc test. RESULTS: LEU in a wet environment exhibited less wear volume loss than that in a dry environment (p < 0.05). The volume loss of LD in a wet environment was higher than that in a dry environment (p < 0.05). The wear volumes of steatite antagonists paired with two glass-ceramics under dry conditions were higher than under wet conditions. CONCLUSIONS: XPS spectra of LD under wet conditions indicated that high wear loss might result from the effect of stress corrosion by water and reaction of water with the ionic-covalent bonds at the crack tip. XPS spectra and SEM images of LD under dry conditions showed a possible formation of tribofilm. Within the limitations of this in vitro study, water was wear-friendly to LEU and all opposing steatites but aggravated wear for LD.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The aim of this was to analyze 4 chest CT imaging features of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Shenzhen, China so as to improve the diagnosis of COVID-19. METHODS: Chest CT of 34 patients with COVID-19 confirmed by the nucleic acid test (NAT) were retrospectively analyzed. Analyses were performed to investigate the pathological basis of four imaging features("feather sign","dandelion sign","pomegranate sign", and "rime sign") and to summarize the follow-up results. RESULTS: There were 22 patients (65.2%) with typical "feather sign"and 18 (52.9%) with "dandelion sign", while few patients had "pomegranate sign" and "rime sign". The "feather sign" and "dandelion sign" were composed of stripe or round ground-glass opacity (GGO), thickened blood vessels, and small-thickened interlobular septa. The "pomegranate sign" was characterized as follows: the increased range of GGO, the significant thickening of the interlobular septum, complicated with a small amount of punctate alveolar hemorrhage. The "rime sign" was characterized by numerous alveolar edemas. Microscopically, the wall thickening, small vascular proliferation, luminal stenosis, and occlusion, accompanied by interstitial infiltration of inflammatory cells, as well as numerous pulmonary interstitial fibrosis and partial hyaline degeneration were observed. Repeated chest CT revealed the mediastinal lymphadenectasis in one patient. Re-examination of the NAT showed another positive anal swab in two patients. CONCLUSION: "Feather sign" and "dandelion sign" were typical chest CT features in patients withCOVID-19; "pomegranate sign" was an atypical feature, and "rime sign" was a severe feature. In clinical work, accurate identification of various chest CT signs can help to improve the diagnostic accuracy of COVID-19 and reduce the misdiagnosis or missed diagnosis rate.

RESUMO

Photochemical reactions at lower energy than the absorption window are currently achieved by multi-photon processes, including two-photon absorption and photon upconversion, which have limited energy utilization efficiency. Here, we report a one-photon strategy based on triplet-triplet energy transfer (TTET) between a photosensitizer and a photocleavable molecule to achieve photolysis at low energy. To verify this concept, we chose platinum(II) tetraphenyltetrabenzoporphyrin (PtTPBP) as the photosensitizer and synthesized a boron-dipyrromethene (BODIPY)-based prodrug as the photocleavable molecule. Photolysis of the prodrug is achieved by TTET upon excitation of PtTPBP at 625 nm with a photolysis quantum yield of 2.8%. Another demonstration shows an unexpected higher photolysis quantum yield than the direct excitation at 530 nm. This strategy opens a new path for achieving photolysis at long wavelengths, benefiting the applications in biological studies, photopharmacology, and photoresponsive drug delivery.

RESUMO

The lily (Lilium spp.) anther contains a lot of pollen. It is not known if lily pollen contains allergens, and therefore screening pollen allergy-related proteins and genes is necessary. The pollen development period of lily 'Siberia' was determined by microscope observation. Early mononuclear microspores and mature pollens were used as sequencing materials. The analysis of the pollen transcriptome identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs), e.g., Profilin, Phl p 7 (Polcalcin), Ole e 1, and Phl p 11, which are associated with pollen allergens. The proteome analysis positively verified a significant increase in pollen allergenic protein content. The expression levels of LoProfiilin and LoPolcalcin, annotated as allergen proteins, gradually increased in mature pollen. LoProfiilin and LoPolcalcin were cloned and their open reading frame lengths were 396 bp and 246 bp, which encoded 131 and 81 amino acids, respectively. Amino acid sequence and structure alignment indicated that the protein sequences of LoProfilin and LoPolcalcin were highly conserved. Subcellular localization analysis showed that LoProfilin protein was localized in the cell cytoplasm and nucleus. LoProfilin and LoPolcalcin were highly expressed in mature pollen at the transcriptional and protein levels. A tertiary structure prediction analysis identified LoProfilin and LoPolcalcin as potential allergens in lily pollen.

RESUMO

In this paper, the case reports on rug-induced liver injury( ADR cases) related to Gukang Capsules containing Psoralea corylifolia( Buguzhi,BGZ) were collected from the adverse reaction monitoring database from January 1,2012 to December 31,2016,and the in-patients cases with drug-induced liver injury admitted to a tertiary Class A liver disease hospital from January 1,2010 to December 31,2016 were also collected. These collected cases were re-evaluated and analyzed. 110 cases with liver injury related to this preparation were collected from adverse reaction monitoring database, and 55 cases of them received the preparation alone, mainly for fracture treatment( 52. 74%). Ninty one cases( 82. 72%) met the standard of the biochemical diagnostic criteria for drug-induced liver injury. 89. 01% of patients were over the age of 41 and women accounted for 60. 9%. The time from administration to liver injury was 1-208 days, with the median of 29 d. The dose of the preparation was 2. 4-4. 8 g per day, with a cumulative dose ranging from 3. 6-699. 6 g. The recovery and improvement rate reached 96. 70% after positive treatment. Seven inpatient cases related to the preparation were collected in a tertiary Class A liver disease hospital,6 females and 1 male. All of them were over 40 years old. Two cases reached the " suspicious diagnosis" standard and 5 cases reached the " clinical diagnosis" standard in Guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of herb-induced liver injury. Six patients had a good prognosis effect, but another one had liver failure. This preparation is commonly used in fracture, osteoarthritis and other diseases, with remarkable curative effect. However,ADR cases and hospital cases all indicated the risk of liver injury. There was no significant correlation between the time and dose of drug use and the occurrence of liver injury. The induced-liver injury may have immunological heterogeneity, thus regular monitoring of liver function should be taken during clinical use.

RESUMO

Mullite whisker frameworks were fabricated by vapor-solid reaction with SiO2, Al2O3 and AlF3 powders as the whisker forming agent at high temperatures. The effects of heating temperature and soaking time on the weight loss, liner shrinkage, porosity, microstructure and compressive strength were investigated. The results showed that with the increasing of the sintering temperature and soaking time, the weight loss and liner shrinkage of the samples increased and the porosities decreased due to the accelerated vapor-solid reaction, resulting in strong bonding and grain growth of the mullite frameworks. The compressive strength of the samples increased with increasing the sintering temperature from 1500 to 1650°C, and decreased with the soaking time extended to more than 5 h for 1500°C and 2 h for 1650°C. A maximum compressive strength of 142 MPa at a porosity of 62.3% was obtained for the mullite whisker framework heated at 1500°C for 5 h. The enhanced strength was attributed to the strong bonding strength and fine mullite grains resulting from a relative lower heating temperature and a modest soaking time.

RESUMO

For the rational utilization and the quantitative quality control of the Stephania yunnanensis Lo, an HPLC-DAD method was developed for the quantitative and simultaneous determination of five alkaloids in rat plasma (stepharine, sinomenine, palmatine, isocorydine and tetrahydropalmatine), which were the main active chemical constituents of this plant and belong to four kinds of isoquinoline-type alkaloids (protoberberine, morphine, aporphine and protaporphine alkaloids). The contents of five alkaloids ranged from 0.09 to 2.32% (w/w). The method validation was tested for the linearity (r2 > 0.9975), precision (intra-day RSD < 4.8% and inter-day RSD < 4.9%), extraction recovery (85.49 ± 2.29% to 99.21 ± 1.48%) and stability (98.5 ± 5.3% to 101.2 ± 3.4%). We developed an HPLC-DAD method to simultaneously measure these alkaloids in rat plasma after oral administration of the extract of this plant to rats. The results supported the hypothesis that isoquinoline alkaloids were the compounds responsible for the main pharmacological activities for anti-inflammatory and analgesic.

RESUMO

Long non-coding RNAs have been proved to be closely associated with different cancers. This study was designed to elucidate the function and mechanisms of colon cancer-associated transcript-1 in the progression of human laryngeal squamous cell cancer. Expressions of colon cancer-associated transcript-1, microRNA-218, and zinc finger protein, X-linked messenger RNA were measured using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction, and the expression level of zinc finger protein, X-linked protein was detected using western blot. Proliferation and invasion of laryngeal squamous cell cancer cell lines were detected by Cell Counting Kit-8 assay and Transwell invasion assay, respectively. Luciferase assay was used to confirm whether microRNA-218 is a target of colon cancer-associated transcript-1 and whether microRNA-218 directly binds to 3'-untranslated region of zinc finger protein, X-linked messenger RNA. Effect of colon cancer-associated transcript-1 on tumor growth was observed through xenograft mice models in vivo. The results showed that expressions of colon cancer-associated transcript-1 and zinc finger protein, X-linked were significantly higher while microRNA-218 expression was significantly lower in the laryngeal squamous cell cancer tissues than those in the adjacent normal tissues. MicroRNA-218 overexpression or zinc finger protein, X-linked silencing significantly suppressed proliferation and invasion of laryngeal squamous cell cancer cells. Moreover, knockdown of colon cancer-associated transcript-1 significantly inhibited proliferation and invasion of laryngeal squamous cell cancer cells, which were reversed by microRNA-218 downregulation or zinc finger protein, X-linked upregulation. Finally, colon cancer-associated transcript-1 silencing inhibited xenograft tumor growth of laryngeal squamous cell cancer in vivo. In conclusion, colon cancer-associated transcript-1 knockdown inhibits proliferation and invasion of laryngeal squamous cell cancer cells through enhancing zinc finger protein, X-linked by sponging microRNA-218, elucidating a novel colon cancer-associated transcript-1-microRNA-218-zinc finger protein, X-linked regulatory axis in laryngeal squamous cell cancer and providing a promising therapeutic target for laryngeal squamous cell cancer patients.

RESUMO

The root of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb (PM) has been used in China to treat a variety of diseases, such as constipation, early graying of the hair and hyperlipemia. Recent evidence shows that PM causes idiosyncratic drug-induced liver injury (IDILI) in humans. In this study, we investigated the molecular basis of PM-induced liver injury in a rat model of IDILI based on a non-hepatotoxic dose of LPS. SD rats were orally administered 3 potentially hepatotoxic compounds of PM: cis-stilbene glucoside (cis-SG, 50 mg/kg), trans-SG (50 mg/kg) or emodin (5 mg/kg), followed by injection of LPS (2.8 mg/kg, iv). Serum and liver histology were evaluated 7 h after LPS injection. Among the 3 compounds tested, cis-SG, but not emodin or trans-SG, induced severe liver injury in rats when combined with LPS. The levels of AST and ALT in plasma and inflammatory cytokines in both plasma and liver tissues were markedly elevated. The liver tissues showed increased injury, hepatocyte apoptosis, and macrophage infiltration, and decreased cell proliferation. Microarray analysis revealed a negative correlation between peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ (PPAR-γ) and LPS/cis-SG-induced liver injury. Immunohistochemical staining and RT-PCR results further confirmed that cis-SG significantly inhibited activation of the PPAR-γ pathway in the liver tissues of LPS/cis-SG-treated rats. Pre-treatment with a PPAR-γ agonist pioglitazone (500 g/kg, ig) reversed LPS/cis-SG-induced liver injury, which was associated with inhibiting the nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) pathway. These data demonstrate that cis-stilbene glucoside induces immunological idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity through suppressing PPAR-γ in a rat model of IDILI.

RESUMO

Mercury (Hg) causes severe nephrotoxicity in subjects with excess exposure. This work attempted to identify whether a natural medicine--rhubarb--has protective effects against mercuric chloride (HgCl2)-induced acute renal failure (ARF), and which of its components contributed most to the treatment. Total rhubarb extract (TR) were separated to the total anthraquinones (TA), the total tannins (TT) and remaining component extract (RC). Each extract was orally pre-administered to rats for five successive days followed by HgCl2 injection to induce kidney injury. Subsequently, renal histopathology and biochemical examinations were performed in vitro to evaluate the protective effects. Pharmacological studies showed that TR and TA, but not TT or RC manifested significant protection activity against HgCl2-induced ARF. There were also significant declines of serum creatine, urea nitrogen values and increases of total protein albumin levels in TR and TA treated groups compared to HgCl2 alone (p < 0.05). At last, the major components in TA extract were further identified as anthraquinones by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectroscopy. This study thus provides observational evidences that rhubarb could ameliorate HgCl2-induced ARF and its anthraquinones in particular are the effective components responsible for this activity in rhubarb extract.

RESUMO

Cholestasis causes hepatic accumulation of bile acids leading to liver injury, fibrosis and liver failure. Paeoniflorin, the major active compound isolated from the roots of Paeonia lactiflora pall and Paeonia veitchii Lynch, is extensively used for liver diseases treatment in China. However, the mechanism of paeoniflorin's hepatoprotective effect on cholestasis has not been investigated yet. In this study, we administered paeoniflorin to rats for 3 days prior to alpha-naphthylisothiocyanate (ANIT) administration for once, then went on administering paeoniflorin to rats for 3 days. The data demonstrated that paeoniflorin significantly prevented ANIT-induced change in serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphates (ALP), serum total bilirubin (TBIL), direct bilirubin (DBIL), total bile acid (TBA) and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (γ-GT). Histology examination revealed that paeoniflorin treatment rats relieved more liver injury and bile duct proliferation than ANIT-administered rats. Moreover, our data indicated that paeoniflorin could restore glutathione (GSH) and its related synthase glutamate-cysteine ligase catalytic subunit (GCLc) and glutamate-cysteine ligase modifier subunit (GCLm) in ANIT-treated group. In addition, the RNA and protein expression of Akt and nuclear factor-E2-related factor-2 (Nrf2) were also activated by paeoniflorin in ANIT-induced rats. These findings indicated that paeoniflorin protected ANIT-induced cholestasis and increased GSH synthesis by activating Nrf2 through PI3K/Akt-dependent pathway. Therefore, paeoniflorin might be a potential therapeutic agent for cholestasis.

RESUMO

Toxicity of different processed was evaluated Polygoni Multiflori Radix by determining the hepatotoxic potency for selecting processing technology. Process Polygoni Multiflori Radix using high pressure steamed, Black Bean high pressure steamed, atmospheric steamed for different time. Using normal human hepatocytes (L02) as evaluation model, hepatotoxic potency as index to evaluate hepatotoxic potency of different processed Polygoni Multiflori Radix. Analysis chemical composition of some processed products by UPLC-MS. Hepatotoxic bioassay method cloud evaluate the toxicity of different Polygoni Multiflori Radix samples. Different processing methods can reduce the toxicity of Polygoni Multiflori Radix, high pressure steamed three hours attenuated was better. Different processing methods have different effects on chemical constituents of Polygoni Multiflori Radix. Comparing with crude sample, the contents of gallic acid, 2,3,5,4-tetrahydroxyl diphenylethylene-2-O-glucoside, emodin-8-O-beta glucoside and emodin were decreased in processed products with 3 kinds of different methods. The change trend of 2,3,5,4-tetrahydroxyl diphenylethylene-2-O-glucoside content was similar with hepatotoxic potency. Different processing methods can reduce the toxicity of Polygoni Multiflori Radix. Processing methods and time attenuated obvious impact on toxicity. Recommended further research on the attehuated standard control of Polygoni Multiflori Radix concocted.
