For the first time, a method for the simultaneous analysis of fifteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), including light and heavy PAHs, in açaí-based food products (AFPs) was developed using vacuum-assisted sorbent extraction (VASE) combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The method requires no organic solvents and is amenable to full automation. To achieve optimal analytical extraction conditions, VASE parameters including stirring rate, extraction time, desorption temperature, desorption time, preheat time, and preheat temperature were optimized using sequential multivariate optimization. The method was validated and yielded limits of quantification below 1 µg kg-1 for all analytes, with recoveries ranging from 65 % to 112 % and good precision (≤11 % relative standard deviation). Additionally, the greenness and practical aspects of the method were investigated using the Green Analytical Procedure Index (GAPI), eco-scale, and the Blue Applicability Grade Index (BAGI), respectively. The VASE-GC-MS approach is suitable for routine analysis and exhibits characteristics of a green analytical method. No PAHs were detected above the limits of detection in thirty samples of AFPs.

Malaria is an extremely malignant disease and is caused by the bites of infected female mosquitoes. This disease is not only infectious among humans, but among animals as well. Malaria causes mild symptoms like fever, headache, sweating and vomiting, and muscle discomfort; severe symptoms include coma, seizures, and kidney failure. The timely identification of malaria parasites is a challenging and chaotic endeavor for health staff. An expert technician examines the schematic blood smears of infected red blood cells through a microscope. The conventional methods for identifying malaria are not efficient. Machine learning approaches are effective for simple classification challenges but not for complex tasks. Furthermore, machine learning involves rigorous feature engineering to train the model and detect patterns in the features. On the other hand, deep learning works well with complex tasks and automatically extracts low and high-level features from the images to detect disease. In this paper, EfficientNet, a deep learning-based approach for detecting Malaria, is proposed that uses red blood cell images. Experiments are carried out and performance comparison is made with pre-trained deep learning models. In addition, k-fold cross-validation is also used to substantiate the results of the proposed approach. Experiments show that the proposed approach is 97.57% accurate in detecting Malaria from red blood cell images and can be beneficial practically for medical healthcare staff.

Introduction: This study aimed to describe the evolution of bone regeneration in children with hip osteonecrosis associated with sickle cell disease, treated with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell implants at the Professor Edgar Santos University Hospital Complex. Materials and methods: A non-randomized clinical trial was conducted with 48 patients of both sexes, aged between 11 and 18 years, diagnosed with femoral head osteonecrosis secondary to sickle cell disease. Patient selection was based on strict criteria, including confirmed diagnosis of sickle cell anemia and a stage of osteonecrosis compatible with the proposed treatment. Bone regeneration assessment was performed through radiographic examinations and magnetic resonance imaging, following the Ficat & Arlet criteria and the Salter-Thompson classification. Results: Statistical analysis revealed a significant association between the patients' age and positive treatment outcomes, suggesting that autologous bone marrow cell implantation is a safe and effective approach in the early stages of osteonecrosis. The majority of patients (87.5%) reported complete pain relief, while 10.42% experienced significant symptom improvement. Only one patient (2.08%) did not observe improvement. The results indicate that cell therapy can regenerate or slow the progression of bone necrosis, reducing the need for more invasive surgical procedures. Conclusion: The study demonstrates the potential of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell implantation in treating hip osteonecrosis in children with sickle cell disease, emphasizing the importance of long-term monitoring of bone structure stability.

BACKGROUND: Considering the challenges posed by nitrogen (N) pollution and its impact on food security and sustainability, it is crucial to develop management techniques that optimize N fertilization in croplands. Our research intended to explore the potential benefits of co-inoculation with Azospirillum brasilense and Bacillus subtilis combined with N application rates on corn plants. The study focused on evaluating corn photosynthesis-related parameters, oxidative stress assay, and physiological nutrient use parameters. Focus was placed on the eventual improved capacity of plants to recover N from applied fertilizers (AFR) and enhance N use efficiency (NUE) during photosynthesis. The two-year field trial involved four seed inoculation treatments (control, A. brasilense, B. subtilis, and A. brasilense + B. subtilis) and five N application rates (0 to 240 kg N ha-1, applied as side-dress). RESULTS: Our results suggested that the combined effects of microbial consortia and adequate N-application rates played a crucial role in N-recovery; enhanced NUE; increased N accumulation, leaf chlorophyll index (LCI), and shoot and root growth; consequently improving corn grain yield. The integration of inoculation and adequate N rates upregulated CO2 uptake and assimilation, transpiration, and water use efficiency, while downregulated oxidative stress. CONCLUSIONS: The results indicated that the optimum N application rate could be reduced from 240 to 175 kg N ha-1 while increasing corn yield by 5.2%. Furthermore, our findings suggest that replacing 240 by 175 kg N ha-1 of N fertilizer (-65 kg N ha-1) with microbial consortia would reduce CO2 emission by 682.5 kg CO2 -e ha-1. Excessive N application, mainly with the presence of beneficial bacteria, can disrupt N-balance in the plant, alter soil and bacteria levels, and ultimately affect plant growth and yield. Hence, highlighting the importance of adequate N management to maximize the benefits of inoculation in agriculture and to counteract N loss from agricultural systems intensification.

OBJECTIVE: This systematic literature review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of transdermal opioids in managing cancer pain and their impact on the quality of life (QoL) of patients. DATA SOURCES: A systematic literature review conducted following the PRISMA protocol, focusing on randomized clinical trials found in the Lilacs, Embase, PubMed, and SciELO databases over the last 20 years. STUDY SELECTION AND DATA EXTRACTION: We included randomized clinical trials, published in English, Portuguese, or Spanish, which assessed the impact of transdermal opioids on the QoL. Data extraction was facilitated using the Rayyan app. DATA SYNTHESIS: Six articles meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria were analyzed. These studies covered a population ranging from 24 to 422 cancer patients experiencing moderate to severe pain. The risk of bias was assessed in each study, generally being categorized as uncertain or high. RELEVANCE TO PATIENT CARE AND CLINICAL PRACTICE: The findings indicate that the analgesic effectiveness and side effects of transdermal formulations (specifically buprenorphine and fentanyl) for managing moderate to severe cancer pain are comparable to, or in some cases superior to, those of oral opioids traditionally employed. CONCLUSIONS: Transdermal therapy was suggested to have several advantages over oral opioid therapy in enhancing cancer patients' QoL. These benefits span various dimensions, including pain management, physical functioning, mental health, vitality, overall patient improvement, anger/aversion, strength/activity, general QoL, cognitive and emotional functions, fatigue, and insomnia.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of fluoride consistency and composition to protect enamel and dentin against the dental erosion. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Bovine enamel and dentin specimens were treated with artificial saliva, neutral fluoride gel (NFG), acidulated phosphate fluoride gel (AFG), neutral fluoride foam (NFF), and acidulated phosphate fluoride foam. The samples were subjected to cycling. Micro energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, surface roughness (Ra), contact angle (CA), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were performed. Composition, CA and Ra data were analyzed by ANOVA and multiple comparison test (p < 0.05). RESULTS: The dentin protected had a significantly higher mineral content than in the control. Eroded unprotected enamel had higher Ra values than normal surfaces. Fluoride treatments increased the Ra in dentin samples. AFG increased the CA in enamel. Fluoride foams increased CA in dentin with reduced mineral loss. SEM analysis found a deposited layer on enamel treated with AFG and remnants of deposits on dentin treated with NFG and NFF. CONCLUSION: Regardless of the form of application, fluoride provided protection against erosion, however with different levels. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Applying the adequate fluoride form is relevant since the formulations have different effects on both enamel and dentin.

Named Entity Recognition (NER) is a natural language processing task that has been widely explored for different languages in the recent decade but is still an under-researched area for the Urdu language due to its rich morphology and language complexities. Existing state-of-the-art studies on Urdu NER use various deep-learning approaches through automatic feature selection using word embeddings. This paper presents a deep learning approach for Urdu NER that harnesses FastText and Floret word embeddings to capture the contextual information of words by considering the surrounding context of words for improved feature extraction. The pre-trained FastText and Floret word embeddings are publicly available for Urdu language which are utilized to generate feature vectors of four benchmark Urdu language datasets. These features are then used as input to train various combinations of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Bidirectional LSTM (BiLSTM), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), CRF, and deep learning models. The results show that our proposed approach significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art studies on Urdu NER, achieving an F-score of up to 0.98 when using BiLSTM+GRU with Floret embeddings. Error analysis shows a low classification error rate ranging from 1.24% to 3.63% across various datasets showing the robustness of the proposed approach. The performance comparison shows that the proposed approach significantly outperforms similar existing studies.

In this study, polymeric ionic liquids featuring different functional moieties were applied as sorbent coatings in direct-immersion solid-phase microextraction (DI-SPME) for the extraction of 2-methylimidazole (2-MI) and 4-methylimidazole (4-MI) from açaí-based food products followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis. The analytical method was optimized using a sequential experimental design. Variables used in GC-MS such as desorption time, as well as for SPME-DI, including extraction time, extraction temperature, incubation time of extraction, amount of NaCl in the extract, and stirring rate, were optimized. The fitness-for-purpose of the method was verified by the linearity of matrix-matched calibration curves (R2 ≥ 0.9921), adequate recoveries (81.7-89.7 %), and precision (relative standard deviations ≤11.2 %). The method was applied to twenty-five samples of açaí-based food products. 4-MI was found in four samples whereas 2-MI was not detected above the limit of detection. The method was found to be suitable for quality control analysis.

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and its complex form (C-PTSD) are psychopathological conditions that are related to several personality traits. In particular, the current study aims to investigate the associations of impairment of personality functioning (IPF) and positive outlook for the future (POF) with PTSD and C-PTSD. A sample of 304 Brazilian adults responded to an online survey. IPF was measured according to the alternative model for personality disorders, POF was operationalized using optimism and hope scales, and PTSD and C-PTSD were measured using the ICD-11 model. Data analysis included correlation, structural equation models, multivariate analysis of variance, and multinomial logistic regression. The results showed that IPF and POF were moderately correlated with PTSD and C-PTSD in positive and negative directions, respectively. IPF and POF were more strongly associated with C-PTSD than PTSD. From the categorical approach to psychopathology, IPF and POF were shown to be associated only with C-PTSD. This is the first study that provides empirical data on the association of IPF and POF with both forms of PTSD. Understanding the associations between pathological and resilient personality domains and PTSD and C-PTSD symptoms can support the development of effective interventions.

Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers., Poaceae) is one of the most important pasture grasses used in milk production systems in southern Brazil, with an increasing expansion of cultivated areas in recent years. Here, we report the first occurrence of the planthopper Metadelphax propinqua (Fieber) (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) feeding on bermudagrass in Brazil. Population outbreaks of this species were observed in January/February 2023 in a commercial hay production farm in the municipality of Chapecó, Santa Catarina State, southern Brazil. Metadelphax propinqua was found in association with three cultivars of C. dactylon (Tifton 85, Jiggs, and Vaquero). The infested plants showed leaf chlorosis and a reduced plant growth rate due to sap sucking and toxin injection as well as honeydew deposition on the leaves, which led to the development of sooty mold. In addition, this delphacid species has been reported as a vector of important pathogens to bermudagrass species and other row crops. Thus, M. propinqua is a potential pest of bermudagrass in Brazil and should be monitored to assess its establishment and behavior in Brazilian pasturelands.

Protein malnourishment (PM) is common among the elderly, but how aging and PM impact hematopoiesis is not fully understood. This study aimed to assess how aging and PM affect the hematopoietic regulatory function of bone marrow (BM) mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Young and aged male C57BL/6J mice were fed with normoproteic or hypoproteic diets and had their nutritional, biochemical, and hematological parameters evaluated. BM MSCs were characterized and had their secretome, gene expression, autophagy, reactive oxygen species production (ROS), and DNA double-stranded breaks evaluated. The modulation of hematopoiesis by MSCs was assayed using in vitro and in vivo models. Lastly, BM invasiveness and mice survival were evaluated after being challenged with leukemic cells of the C1498 cell line. Aging and PM alter biochemical parameters, changing the peripheral blood and BM immunophenotype. MSC autophagy was affected by aging and the frequencies for ROS and DNA double-stranded breaks. Regarding the MSCs' secretome, PM and aging affected CXCL12, IL-6, and IL-11 production. Aging and PM up-regulated Akt1 and PPAR-γ while down-regulating Cdh2 and Angpt-1 in MSCs. Aged MSCs increased C1498 cell proliferation while reducing their colony-forming potential. PM and aging lowered mice survival, and malnourishment accumulated C1498 cells at the BM. Finally, aged and/or PM MSCs up-regulated Sox2, Nanog, Pou5f1, and Akt1 expression while down-regulating Cdkn1a in C1498 cells. Together, aging and PM can induce cell-intrinsic shifts in BM MSCs, creating an environment that alters the regulation of hematopoietic populations and favoring the development of malignant cells.

RESUMO Objetivo: Obter imagens de fundoscopia por meio de equipamento portátil e de baixo custo e, usando inteligência artificial, avaliar a presença de retinopatia diabética. Métodos: Por meio de um smartphone acoplado a um dispositivo com lente de 20D, foram obtidas imagens de fundo de olhos de pacientes diabéticos; usando a inteligência artificial, a presença de retinopatia diabética foi classificada por algoritmo binário. Resultados: Foram avaliadas 97 imagens da fundoscopia ocular (45 normais e 52 com retinopatia diabética). Com auxílio da inteligência artificial, houve acurácia diagnóstica em torno de 70 a 100% na classificação da presença de retinopatia diabética. Conclusão: A abordagem usando dispositivo portátil de baixo custo apresentou eficácia satisfatória na triagem de pacientes diabéticos com ou sem retinopatia diabética, sendo útil para locais sem condições de infraestrutura.


ABSTRACT Introduction: To obtain fundoscopy images through portable and low-cost equipment using artificial intelligence to assess the presence of DR. Methods: Fundus images of diabetic patients' eyes were obtained by using a smartphone coupled to a device with a 20D lens. By using artificial intelligence (AI), the presence of DR was classified by a binary algorithm. Results: 97 ocular fundoscopy images were evaluated (45 normal and 52 with DR). Through AI diagnostic accuracy around was 70% to 100% in the classification of the presence of DR. Conclusion: The approach using a low-cost portable device showed satisfactory efficacy in the screening of diabetic patients with or without diabetic retinopathy, being useful for places without infrastructure conditions.

Brazil is the largest producer of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill], cultivated in diverse environments and systems. This scenario can contribute to emergence of new diseases or increase the severity of secondary diseases. In March 2023, elliptical to circular, brownish lesions, 5.2-6.1 cm length and 1.1-1.5 cm width, with salmon-colored masses of conidia in the center of the lesions, were observed on the stems of soybean cultivar 'CZ 16B17 IPRO', in the municipality of Campos Novos, Santa Catarina, Brazil (27º25'19''S and 51º14'14''05W). The presence of 210-355 µm length and 210-232 µm width acervuli was rare, with arrows larger than the mass of conidia (Figure S1). Fragments of the infected tissues were cut, disinfected and placed in Petri dishes containing Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) or V8-agar medium and maintained at 23 ± 2ºC and a photoperiod of 12 h dark-light cycle. After 13 days, the development of grayish-white colonies was observed on both culture media, with the formation of a mass of septate hyaline, oblong, cylindrical conidia, 13.3-15.3 µm length and 2.9-3.5 µm width, with obtuse ends. One pure monosporic isolate was selected, isolate CF1. The presence of sexual structures was observed on PDA after 13 days and in V8 after 15-20 days. Perithecia were dark brown and globose, either immersed in the culture medium or on the surface between the mycelia. Inside of perithecia, unitunicate, clavate, and cymbiform asci, 39.1-61.0 µm length and 9.6-11.7 µm width were observed, containing eight spindle-shaped and slightly curved ascospores with rounded tips 13.8-18.3 µm length and 3.0-4.2 µm width (Figure S1). Pathogenicity tests were performed on young soybean plants at V1 phenological growth stage in four repetitions. PDA disks, 7mm in diameter, with growth mycelium were placed on stems while using uninfected PDA disks as a control. Plants were incubated in a chamber at 25 ± 2°C and 90% relative humidity. Anthracnose lesions were observed only on the stems of the inoculated plants. The same pattern of symptoms was observed on the stems, and the fungus were reisolated on PDA. The colony and morphological characteristics were identical to the previously isolated fungus. For molecular characterization, the growth mycelia were collected, macerated in liquid nitrogen, and DNA was extracted using the method Doyle and Doyle (1990) with CTAB. End-point PCR was performed using the GoTaq® Flexi DNA Polymerase (Promega, USA) and the primers, ITS-1F/ITS-4, T1/Bt2b, CL1C/CL2C, GDF/GDR, and SODglo2-F/SODglo2-R (Weir et al. 2012) for the amplification of internal transcribed spacer (ITS), ß-tubulin (TUB2), calmodulin (CAL), glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), and superoxide dismutase (SOD), respectively. Amplified fragments were sequenced and compared with the available sequences in the Genbank (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genbank/). The sequences of all five-genes (Accession numbers OR883777, OR891749, OR891750, OR891751 and OR891752, respectively) of the isolate CF1 characterized in this study showed 99% nucleotide identities whith the stand isolate ICMP 18581 of Colletotrichum fructicola. A phylogenetic tree was constructed in MEGA X (Kumar et al. 2021), containing the amplified and concatenated sequences and representative species from the Colletotrichum gloeosporioides complex. The isolate grouped only with C. fructicola clade, confirming the identity of the fungus (Figure S2). To our knowledge, this is the first study reporting the infection of C. fructicola in soybeans in Brazil, which has already been reported in China (Xu et al. 2023).

Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) offer great opportunities to expand the druggable proteome and therapeutically tackle various diseases, but remain challenging targets for drug discovery. Here, we provide a comprehensive pipeline that combines experimental and computational tools to identify and validate PPI targets and perform early-stage drug discovery. We have developed a machine learning approach that prioritizes interactions by analyzing quantitative data from binary PPI assays and AlphaFold-Multimer predictions. Using the quantitative assay LuTHy together with our machine learning algorithm, we identified high-confidence interactions among SARS-CoV-2 proteins for which we predicted three-dimensional structures using AlphaFold Multimer. We employed VirtualFlow to target the contact interface of the NSP10-NSP16 SARS-CoV-2 methyltransferase complex by ultra-large virtual drug screening. Thereby, we identified a compound that binds to NSP10 and inhibits its interaction with NSP16, while also disrupting the methyltransferase activity of the complex, and SARS-CoV-2 replication. Overall, this pipeline will help to prioritize PPI targets to accelerate the discovery of early-stage drug candidates targeting protein complexes and pathways.

Abstract Introduction: Reinke's Edema (RE) is a laryngeal lesion related to excessive tobacco smoking, voice overuse, and laryngopharyngeal reflux. Although the risk of malignancy has been considered low in literature, RE is classified among precancerous lesions. Objectives: We investigated DNA Copy Number Alterations (CNAs) in specimens of RE and its potential association with malignant progression. Methods: We used array-based comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH, Agilent 4 × 180 K platform) to study eight RE cases. All patients were heavy tobacco users for at least 30 years, and none of them progressed to cancer in the follow-up (>8 years). Two RE presented mild dysplasia, one moderate dysplasia, and no histological alterations were found in the remaining five cases. CNAs were compared with the Database of Genomic Variants (DGV) and genes mapped on altered regions had their functions annotated. Results: Six of eight patients showed different rare copy number alterations on chromosomes 2q37.3, 4q13.1, 4q13.3, 7q11.22, 10p14, and 13q34. A gain of the whole chromosome 8 were detected in one case. Of interest, four of eight RE cases showed copy number imbalances involving genes previously described in several tumor types (RASA3, COL6A3, LINC00707, LINP1, SMR3A, and SMR3B). Conclusion: The genomic imbalances herein found in RE have the potential to contribute to the phenotype but with limited or no risk of cancer. A long-term follow-up in a large series of patients could clarify the mechanisms involved in the malignant progression of RE. Level of evidence: 4.

Among the most intriguing structural features in the known virosphere are mimivirus surface fibrils, proteinaceous filaments approximately 150 nm long, covering the mimivirus capsid surface. Fibrils are important to promote particle adhesion to host cells, triggering phagocytosis and cell infection. However, although mimiviruses are one of the most abundant viral entities in a plethora of biomes worldwide, there has been no comparative analysis on fibril organization and abundance among distinct mimivirus isolates. Here, we describe the isolation and characterization of Megavirus caiporensis, a novel lineage C mimivirus with surface fibrils organized as "clumps." This intriguing feature led us to expand our analyses to other mimivirus isolates. By employing a combined approach including electron microscopy, image processing, genomic sequencing, and viral prospection, we obtained evidence of at least three main patterns of surface fibrils that can be found in mimiviruses: (i) isolates containing particles with abundant fibrils, distributed homogeneously on the capsid surface; (ii) isolates with particles almost fibrilless; and (iii) isolates with particles containing fibrils in abundance, but organized as clumps, as observed in Megavirus caiporensis. A total of 15 mimivirus isolates were analyzed by microscopy, and their DNA polymerase subunit B genes were sequenced for phylogenetic analysis. We observed a unique match between evolutionarily-related viruses and their fibril profiles. Biological assays suggested that patterns of fibrils can influence viral entry in host cells. Our data contribute to the knowledge of mimivirus fibril organization and abundance, as well as raising questions on the evolution of those intriguing structures. IMPORTANCE Mimivirus fibrils are intriguing structures that have drawn attention since their discovery. Although still under investigation, the function of fibrils may be related to host cell adhesion. In this work, we isolated and characterized a new mimivirus, called Megavirus caiporensis, and we showed that mimivirus isolates can exhibit at least three different patterns related to fibril organization and abundance. In our study, evolutionarily-related viruses presented similar fibril profiles, and such fibrils may affect how those viruses trigger phagocytosis in amoebas. These data shed light on aspects of mimivirus particle morphology, virus-host interactions, and their evolution.

The occurrence of persistent organic pollutants in aquatic bodies, namely polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), has been increasingly detected. The presence of such contaminants represents a serious threat to human health due to their toxicity. Therefore, aiming to provide a novel and efficient alternative for PAHs' removal from water, the present study assesses the effect of oligo(ß-pinene) blended with chitosan for the adsorption of these pollutants. Oligo(ß-pinene) with phenyl end-groups was synthesized by organocatalyzed atom transfer radical polymerization (O-ATRP) and incorporated in different concentrations (6, 12, and 18 %) to chitosan films. The oligo(ß-pinene) loading in the chitosan matrix impressively improved this polysaccharide adsorption capacity. The formulation containing 12 % of oligomer demonstrated a contaminant removal performance three times higher (298.82 %) than pure chitosan during only 1 h of the decontamination process. Adsorption isotherms showed an improved uptake of PAHs with the increase of the contaminants' concentration in the aqueous media due to the formation of a higher concentration gradient. Additionally, a comprehensive characterization of oligo(ß-pinene)/chitosan formulation was performed to provide a better understanding of the interactions between the components of the blends. Overall, it was concluded that oligo(ß-pinene)/chitosan blends can be used as a high-performance and sustainable alternative for PAHs removal.

Abstract The goal of this research was to investigate the psychometric properties of the Level of Personality Functioning Scale - Brief Form - 2.0 (LPFS-BF-2.0) in Brazilian samples. Therefore, two samples were used in this study, one with 415 and the other with 1,011 Brazilians. Participants completed the Brazilian version of the LPFS-BF-2.0 and other measures of common mental disorder symptoms, suicide risk, the severity of personality pathology, and pathological personality traits. The results indicated that the two-factor model (including self-functioning and interpersonal functioning domains) fits the Brazilian samples better than a one-factor model. The LPFS-BF-2.0 scales indicated adequate reliability coefficients and evidence of convergent validity.


Resumo O objetivo desta pesquisa foi investigar as propriedades psicométricas da Escala de Nível de Funcionamento da Personalidade - Forma Breve - 2.0 (LPFS-BF-2.0) em amostras brasileiras. Assim, duas amostras foram utilizadas, uma com 415 e outra com 1.011 brasileiros. Os participantes responderam a versão brasileira da LPFS-BF-2.0 e outras medidas de sintomas de transtornos mentais comuns, de risco de suicídio, de severidade da patologia da personalidade e de traços patológicos da personalidade. Os resultados indicaram que o modelo de dois fatores (incluindo os fatores de funcionamento do self e interpessoal) ajustou melhor às amostras de brasileiros do que o modelo de um fator. As escalas da LPFSP-BF-2.0 indicaram adequados coeficientes de fidedignidade e evidência de validade convergente.
