RESUMO

Purpose: Idiosyncratic deals (I-deals), a novel human resource management implement, has significantly contributed to attracting, retaining and motivating personnel to enhance creativity. Building upon self-categorization theory, this study investigates the impact of I-deals on creativity and the moderating role of psychological safety in this process by perceived insider status. Participants and Methods: To mitigate common method bias and causal lag effects, this study was conducted in three phases with a half-month interval for data collection. In this study, a total of 331 employees from six enterprises in China were selected to test the hypotheses using Bootstrap and Johnson-Neyman methods. Results: Results show that I-deals have a positive influence on creativity. Perceived insider status acts as intermediary between I-deals and creativity; Psychological safety strengthens the influence of I-deals on perceived insider status and further enhances the indirect influence of I-deals on creativity through perceived insider status. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that organizations can leverage the unique characteristics of I-deals to fully showcase the diverse talents of their personnel, while simultaneously enhancing their psychological security. This, in turn, empowers employees to confidently propose new ideas and methods, thus catalyzing the generation of creativity.

RESUMO

Purpose: According to the traditional view, "underdog expectations" induce self-doubt in employees, resulting in negative effects. However, a new study suggests that underdog expectations may encourage employees to work harder, resulting in positive effects. Based on regulatory focus theory, this study constructed a moderated double-mediation model to explain the "double-edged sword effect" of underdog expectations. Subjects and Methods: A three-wave survey method and leader-employee pairing method were used to conduct a questionnaire survey among 346 employees drawn from five enterprises in Shanghai, China. Statistical analysis methods, including hierarchical regression analysis, simple slope analysis, and difference analysis, were used for data analysis. SPSS 24.0, Amoss 24.0, and Mplus 7.4 software were employed to test four proposed hypotheses. Results: Under the positive moderating effect of prevention focus, underdog expectations reduce employee work engagement by adopting an avoidance path of employee feedback-avoiding behaviors(ß = 0.090, p < 0.01). Moreover, underdog expectations play a negative role in this situation . Under the positive moderating effect of promotion focus, underdog expectations improve employee work engagement by adopting an approach of proving others wrong (ß = 0.189, p < 0.001). Moreover, underdog expectations play a positive role in this situation. Conclusion: The study results refined the double-sided effects of underdog expectations on employee work engagement and provided theoretical and practical implications for managers on how to motivate employees with underdog expectations and how to better convey expectations to subordinates.

RESUMO

Human capital plays a significant role in an organization's advancement. In recent years, emerging work-related psychological issues have become a critical factor, demanding considerable attention from management. As such, this study measures the role of job satisfaction in work-related stress and employees' turnover intentions. There is a mediating relationship between work-related stress-such as emotional exhaustion, work engagement, role conflict, and psychosocial risks-and turnover intentions. The study used primary data collection techniques to gather data and purposive sampling to analyze the data. The study's sample size consisted of 270 employees working in Chinese organizations. SmartPLS software was used to test the research hypothesis. The study results show the mediating role of work-related stress and moderating role of employees' job satisfaction. Accordingly, the study provides implications for managers, encouraging them to take the necessary steps in controlling the turnover rate by enhancing employees' morale (i.e., job satisfaction) and work engagement.

RESUMO

Industrial-technological innovation (ITI) has become an important requirement for the sustainable development of China. ITI development requires a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic complexity associated with ITI systems. Previous research into ITI systems is based primarily on static methods that isolate system components, and ignore feedback on adjustments made. Based on systems thinking, this paper develop six archetypes ("Limit to Growth," "Success to the Successful," "Tragedy of the Commons," "Fixes that Fail," "Accidental Adversaries," and "Shifting the Burden") and an ITI system integration model. The model visualizes the ITI system as a whole and identifies bottlenecks that may affect ITI development. This conceptual model provides a more effective method of judgment, which can better explain the operational mechanism of the ITI system and improve the system's operational characteristics. Finally, we evaluate the ITI system and propose that self-organization is a key lever of a systemic intervention framework for ITI.

RESUMO

Fatty acid esters of 3-monochloropropane 1,2-diol (3-MCPD) are a group of processing-induced toxicants. To better clarify their possible toxicological effects and mechanisms, it is important to investigate their absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion. In this study, the kinetic parameters of 3-MCPD dipalmitate in Sprague Dawley (SD) rat plasma were determined using ultraperformance liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry. 3-MCPD dipalmitate was absorbed in rats with a Cmax of 135.00 ng/mL, a T1/2 of 3.87 h, a Tmax of 2.5 h, an MRT of 5.08 h, a CL of 3.50 L/h/g, a Vd of 21.34 L/g, and an AUC0-∞ of 458.47 h·ng/mL. A total of 17 metabolites were identified, and 16 of them were reported for the first time. Furthermore, these metabolites were examined for their presences in the liver, kidney, testis, brain, spleen, thymus, intestine, plasma, feces, and urine samples 2, 6, 12, 24, and 48 h after oral administration of 3-MCPD dipalmitate using Metabolynx software.

RESUMO

Fatty acid esters of 3-chloro-1, 2-propanediol (3-MCPD) are a group of processing-induced food contaminants with nephrotoxicity. This study investigated whether and how necroptosis played a role in the nephrotoxic effect of 3-MCPD-dipalmitate (2.5 g/kg BW) in C57 BL/6 mice. The results showed that the principal components in necroptosis pathway including receptor-interacting protein 1 (RIPK1), RIPK3, and mixed lineage kinase domain-like protein (MLKL) were up-regulated in 3-MCPD-dipalmitate-induced acute kidney injury (AKI). Deletion of RIPK3 or MLKL, and inhibition of RIPK1 suppressed AKI. The up-regulation of inflammatory cytokines in the kidney of 3-MCPD-dipalmitate treated mice were attenuated in RIPK3- or MLKL- deficient mice, suggesting a positive feedback loop involving necroptosis and inflammation. The microRNA analysis revealed that 38 known miRNAs and 40 novel miRNAs were differentially expressed (DE) in the kidney treated with 3-MCPD-dipalmitate. Of these miRNAs, miR-223-3p was significantly up-regulated during 3-MCPD-dipalmitate-induced AKI. In cultured mouse proximal tubular cells, a miR-223-3p mimic suppressed RIPK3 expression, which was blocked by miR-223-3p inhibitor. The luciferase reporter assay confirmed that miR-223-3p was able to inhibit RIPK3 expression by targeting the 3' un-translated region of RIPK3. These results suggest that necroptosis contributes to 3-MCPD-dipalmitate-induced acute kidney injury, and that may be attenuated by miR-223-3p.

RESUMO

This study investigated whether and how 3-chloro-1,2-propanediol (3-MCPD) fatty acid esters, a group of food contaminants formed during processing, might inhibit the immune system through suppressing T lymphocyte activation for the first time. Three 3-MCPD esters including 1-palmitoyl-3-chloropropanediol (1-pal), 2-palmitoyl-3-chloropropanediol (2-pal), and1,2-dipalmitoyl-3-chloropropanediol (dipal) were selected as the probe compounds to test the possible effects of fatty acid structure on their potential immune inhibitory effect. The results showed that 1-pal and 2-pal, but not dipal, significantly suppressed ConA-induced T lymphocyte proliferation, cell cycle activity, Th1 and Th2 cytokine secretion, CD4+ T cell populations, and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ T cells under the experimental conditions. Moreover, Western blotting and immunofluorescence analyses revealed that 1-pal and 2-pal could inhibit the activation of ConA-stimulated mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathways. In addition, 1-pal significantly suppressed DNFB-induced delayed-type hyper sensitivity (DTH) reaction characterized by the increased ear thickness and IFN-γ production in mice. These observations indicated that 3-MCPD esters exerted a negative effect on T lymphocyte-mediated immunity, and the immunosuppressive activities of 3-MCPD monopalmitates were stronger than 3-MCPD dipalmitate.
